Sergio Aguero is a Manchester City and Premier League legend. The Argentine enjoyed a hugely successful decade-long stint with City in the English top flight.

The five-time Premier League winner has the most goals (184) for a single club in the competition. Aguero also holds the record for most Premier League hat-tricks (12). One of those hat-tricks was a stunning five-goal salvo against Newcastle United in the competition's 2015-16 edition.

Aguero completed his hat-trick in eight minutes and added two more in the next 12. That made him only the fifth player to score five goals in a Premier League game. His 20-minute quintuple is the fastest ever achieved in the sport.

The Copa America 2021 winner left Manchester City for Barcelona this summer.

#5 Jermain Defoe - 18 minutes (2009-10)

Jermain Defoe is one of the most prolific scorers in Premier League history. The 39-year-old Englishman has scored over 150 goals in the competition for five different clubs.

However, his most successful stint in the competition came with Tottenham Hotspur, for whom he netted 91 Premier League goals. Five of these strikes came in a single game against Wigan in 2009. That made Defoe only the third player to score five goals in a Premier League game.

The feat has been accomplished twice more since then. But Defoe is one of only two players to score five Premier League goals in one half.

Now at Rangers, the evergreen striker won the Scottish league last season.

#4 Martin Petrov - 16 minutes (2004-05)

Martin Petrov enjoyed a decent four-season stint in the Bundesliga with VfL Wolfsburg, scoring 28 goals and providing 38 assists.

He enjoyed his most prolific campaign in the competition in 2004-05, providing 25 goal contributions (12 goals and 13 assists). Four of these goals came in one game against Mainz, with the Bulgarian scoring all four in his team's 4-3 win.

After the visitors went two goals to the good, a quickfire Petrov double helped Wolfsburg restore parity on the cusp of half-time. The winger then scored two more after the break, bringing up a stunning 16-minute quadruple.

In the process, Petrov emulated Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp to score four goals in Wolfburg-Mainz games. Unlike Klopp, who took ten games to do so, Petrov needed only one to record the feat.
