Eden Hazard has had a fantastic season with Chelsea

The summer of 2017 is looking like one of the most exciting transfer windows ever with a host of players possibly moving. With all the money available at top clubs and some looking to offload their current players, we could be seeing some of the biggest blockbuster signings Europe has ever seen.

These five moves would provide some incredible talking points as some of the best players in the world could be moving on from their current clubs.

Here’s a look at what would be the five blockbuster transfers that would shock football this summer.

#1 Eden Hazard to Real Madrid

Eden Hazard has undoubtedly been the best player in the Premier League so far this season. And despite Chelsea looking like winning the league, it will be hard for them keep hold of the Belgian if his impressive performances continue.

Real Madrid have been the club most interested in the Belgian and with their history of signing the best in the world, it would be no surprise if they do absolutely everything they can to buy the Chelsea No. 10.

To sign Hazard, it could take a world transfer fee, or possibly a swap deal with one of their current playmakers making the switch London. This alone would make it the best signing of the summer, along with the fact that Hazard would be simply incredible at Real Madrid with players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema.

With the Belgian already being considered one of the best players in the world, moving to Real would help him further his career in what would be one of the greatest signings of this decade.

#2 Alexis Sanchez to PSG

Alexis Sanchez is likely to be one of the main talking points this summer as the Chilean looks set to leave Arsenal.

There have been numerous rumours flying around of where his next destination will be, but the club who will be desperate to get their hands on the Chilean will be PSG. With PSG already having Julian Draxler, Angel Di Maria and Edinson Cavani as part of their front line, adding Alexis would give them one of the best attacks in world football.

The Chilean international can operate either as a centre-forward or as a winger, which he has proved in the Premier League. This season, he has 22 goals and 18 assists in all competitions for the Gunners, and third on the top goalscorers chart in the Premier League. These stats are quite brilliant considering he has played as both a striker and a left winger.

PSG already showed their attacking prowess with a 4-0 win in Europe over Barcelona which shocked the footballing world, if they were to add Sanchez to their ranks they would be one of the most exciting sides in Europe next season.

#3 Antoine Griezmann to Manchester United

Griezmann is currently one of the best strikers in the world

One of the most talented strikers in Europe at the moment is Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann. If Manchester United were to capture the Frenchman, they would certainly be a force in the Premier League and possibly, Europe, once again.

As Jose Mourinho looks to transform his new United side into challengers for the league, he will be looking to purchase the 26-year-old this summer, who could be the final jigsaw in the piece. However, he will cost a price similar to what they paid for their current midfield sensation, Paul Pogba, last summer.

If they are to purchase Griezmann, there’s no doubt they will be gaining one of the best players in the world right now. The Frenchman has 22 goals and 11 assists in all competitions this season, meaning they will be gaining a striker who is not only able to score, but set goals up as well.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has just a one-year contract currently and hasn’t decided whether he will stay for another year, meaning if he doesn’t sign they will need to buy a striker. Who better to sign than one of the best strikers in the world?

#4 Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona

Coutinho signed a new contract at Liverpool this season but may move if Barcelona are interested in his signature

Liverpool’s Brazilian playmaker has lit up the Premier League since arriving in 2013. He has shown he has an ability to hit the ball from outside of the box like no other, conjure up chances from nothing and play fancy tricks and flicks with aplomb.

Catalan giants, Barcelona, have long been admirers of the Brazilian and a club who will not struggle to convince him to make the switch from Merseyside. Furthermore, with Iniesta ageing, a replacement will soon become necessary, with Coutinho being the answer.

The 24-year-old is now heading into his prime and even though he recently signed a new contract at Liverpool in January, if Barcelona were to come calling and he was given the opportunity to play alongside his Brazilian team-mate Neymar, it’s unlikely that he would be able to say no.

This could shape up to be one of the most exciting and biggest signings of the summer.

#5 Thiago Alcantara to Real Madrid

Finally, what could arguably be the blockbuster signing of the summer is the possibility of Thiago Alcantara – the former Barcelona, and current Bayern Munich midfielder – moving to Real Madrid.

The Spaniard moving to Real Madrid would be a huge shock in Spain, especially due to the rivalry between the two La Liga teams. Having played 68 games for Barcelona over a four-year period, Barcelona fans would be disappointed and angry to see the Spanish international move to Real.

With the Bayern attacking midfielder being in his prime, he would perfectly replace current attacking midfielders Isco and James Rodriguez, who look to be leaving the club this summer, with numerous clubs being interested.

If Thiago was to make the switch, it would be an unbelievable signing for Real, capturing a player who is recognised as one of the best attacking midfielders in Europe, and secondly, a player who has recently played for their rivals Barcelona. This would be the definition of a blockbuster signing.
