Christian Benteke’s brace took him to seven league goals for the season, while the Eagles managed to move away from the drop zone. The win will serve as a big confidence booster for Alan Pardew’s team who also managed their first clean sheet of the season.
Sunderland have been enjoying a decent run of form of late after they won their third match in their last four games. David Moyes’ rejuvenated side saw the Champions Leicester City off in a 2-1 win at The Stadium of Light. Jermaine Defoe scored the winner, which was his fourth goal in his last five games. The Black Cats are only a point off safety and they will look to carry on their good form into the coming weeks.
