#3 N'Golo Kante (€70 million)

N'Golo Kante's role at Chelsea has been a topic of debate over the last couple of seasons. Kante was hailed as one of the best defensive midfielders of the game and had won a couple of Premier League trophies and a World Cup playing as the destroyer.

However, since Maurizio Sarri took charge as the Chelsea manager, his role was changed and he was forced into playing in a more advanced position which was a departure from playing in a midfield pivot. He now plays for Chelsea as one of the two defensive midfielders alongside Jorginho.

As such, he now has to make more interceptions than tackles and has to stop attacks a little higher up the field and get more involved going forward. It's a role that Kante is still adapting to as positionally, he can be a little off at times.

Kante is currently valued at €70 million. His market value has dropped quite a bit over the last couple of seasons and his valuation has touched €90 million in the past.

#2 Timo Werner (€70 million)

Chelsea signed Timo Werner from RB Leipzig for a sum of €52.6 million this summer. It might be too early to pass a judgment on how it has worked out but the signs are encouraging for both Chelsea and the German international.

He has turned in a few good performances so far but they have not always translated to goals. Werner has played six Premier League games so far and has two goals and one assist, all of which came in Chelsea's 3-3 draw against Southampton.

The Chelsea fans are waiting for him to settle down and get familiar with his teammates as we all know that there is a striker in there that can torment any defence on his day. Werner is currently valued at €70 million.

#1 Kai Havertz (€81 million)

Kai Havertz was Chelsea's most expensive signing this summer but he is yet to hit his stride at Stamford Bridge. Havertz currently plays in a number 10 role behind Timo Werner but Lampard has not managed to get the most out of him yet.

Havertz was at his best last season for Bayer Leverkusen when he was handed a number 9 role and we wouldn't be surprised to see Lampard opting to play him as a central striker and push Timo Werner out wide where his pace can be put to better use.

Though things are yet to fall in place with Havertz, there is every chance that once he settles down, he will be able to replicate the form that made him one of the most sought-after youngsters in the game this past transfer window.
