In the group stages of the 2009-10 season, the Bianconeri only needed a draw with Bayern Munich on the final day. This was to secure a place in the last-16, and they were at home too.

But the Bundesliga giants sprung a surprise, wiping the floor with their listless hosts to secure a thumping 4-1 victory in Turin. They won comfortably despite falling behind early on after David Trezeguet's opener.

Hans-Jorg Butt equalized from the spot before half-time. Ivica Olic, Mario Gomez and Anatoliy Tymoshchuk scored in the second half to condemn Juventus into the Europa League.

#2 Juventus 1-4 Real Madrid (Finals, 2017)

Massimiliano Allegri guided Juventus to two European finals during his glorious first stint at the club, but ended up losing both. The first to Barcelona in 2015 and then to Real Madrid in 2017.

The second defeat was heavier, with Zinedine Zidane's swashbuckling team putting four past Juventus. This included two from Ronaldo which meant Real Madrid retained their Champions League crown.

It was the Bianconeri's fifth consecutive defeat in the finals, and seventh overall.

Chelsea delivered Juventus their heaviest loss of the Champions League-era last night. This was also their worst defeat in all competitions since February 2004.

Back then, AS Roma thrashed the side 4-0 in Serie A, but the Turin giants hadn't lost by a four-goal margin in this competition before.

In fact, their last 4-0 defeat in Europe came against Celta Vigo in the UEFA Cup in 2000. French legend Claude Makelele triggered the onslaught after only 27 seconds!
