Cesar Azpilicueta rallied his troops from the back. The Spaniard covered massive ground against Manchester City. He combined well with Reece James to deal with Zinchenko and Sterling. Reece James put in a solid performance against Manchester City. He completely neutralized the threat posed by Sterling. He simply gave Cityzens no room on the flank. N'Golo Kante was everywhere for Chelsea. The Frenchman put in another masterclass. Kante won 11 duels, made 10 recoveries, made two clearances, won three tackles, completed two dribbles and made 2 interceptions against Manchester City. His brilliance stumped De Bruyne and Gundogan completely.

Jorginho maintained the tempo for Chelsea. The Italian international was quite vital to Chelsea's transitions through the center. Jorginho combined well with Kante and Mount in the center of the pitch.

Ben Chilwell enjoyed a great game against his former team-mate Riyad Mahrez. The wing-back was astute offensively as well as defensively. Chilwell combined well with Mount going forward and offered additional support when the Blues moved higher up the pitch.

Kai Havertz was Chelsea's star of the night. He scored the all important goal which proved to be the difference between the two sides. Havertz won 10 duels, made two clearances, completed two dribbles successfully and made four recoveries throughout the game against Manchester City.

Mason Mount was the creator for Chelsea. The Englishman created the most number of chances(4) for Chelsea. Mount threaded in a perfect pass for Havertz to score. He put in a massive shift as he tracked up and down the pitch on various occasions.
Timo Werner- 6.5/10
Timo Werner engaged well with Manchester City's back-line. The German could have done better with his finishing, but did well to get behind the defenders to pave way for other attackers. Chelsea benefitted due to his off-the-ball movements that opened up quite a few options for them.
