#8 Abdul Baba Rahman

Chelsea signed Abdul Baba Rahman back in 2015, hoping to resolve their left-back issues by replacing Filipe Luis with him in Jose Mourinho's squad.

Six years later and he is still on their books, having made just 25 appearances for the Blues. Now 27, he has been on loan to Schalke, Reims and Mallorca, spending most of his season watching on from the sidelines at the Spanish club due to injury.

He was sent on loan again to PAOK Thessaloniki FC in Greece during the January transfer window but is back at the club again this summer for pre-season training.

#7 Papy Djilobodji

The Senegalese defender was signed by Chelsea in 2015 for a reported fee of £4 million from Nantes. However, he didn't last long at Stamford Bridge.

Djilobodji made just one appearance for the club, a one-minute cameo against Walsall in a League Cup win in September 2015.

He was subsequently loaned out to Werder Bremen before being sold to Sunderland, where he was released in 2018 following a breach of contract. He now plays his football in Turkey with Gaziantep FK.

#6 Juan Cuadrado

Chelsea signed Juan Cuadrado from Fiorentina in January 2015 for £23.3 million, with the deal also seeing the then Blues forward Mohamed Salah going the other way on loan.

Despite the hefty fee, Cuadrado never made a huge impact in his six months at Stamford Bridge, scoring no goals and providing a solitary assist in his 15 appearances at Chelsea.

The winger was sent to Juventus on loan for the 2015/16 and 2016/17 season, before The Old Lady made the deal permanent in the summer of 2017 for £17 million.

#5 Marko Marin

Marko Marin was signed from Werder Bremen in 2012, but failed to make an impact at Chelsea.

Dubbed the "German Messi", the £7 million man was nowhere near the level of quality or consistency that was desired of him. The winger made just 16 first-team appearances for the Blues before being sent out on numerous loan deals.

The German international eventually left Stamford Bridge in 2016, signing for Greek side Olympiacos.
