What's the story?

After his criticism of Cristiano Ronaldo for his performance in Juventus' loss to Atletico Madrid this week, ESPN pundit Alejandro Moreno has now slammed the Portuguese for his antics during the game, stating that the 'five-finger' gesture makes him look classless and ungrateful.

In case you didn't know...

An annoyed Ronaldo was caught gesturing at home fans at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium following their first-leg defeat to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League Round of 16 fixture.

The former Real Madrid star made sure the crowd knew that he was a champion in Europe's top competition by raising all five fingers to indicate the number of Champions League titles he has won so far.

When walking through the mixed zone after the game, Ronaldo added, "I have five Champions Leagues, you [Atletico] have none."

The heart of the matter

ESPN pundit Moreno has once again slammed Ronaldo for his behavior during and after the game calling him ungrateful and pointing out that he did not win the five titles alone.

According to The Daily Star UK, he said, "This is where I have an issue. Cristiano Ronaldo is a tremendous talent, it’s a generational talent. His productivity is without question."

"But this is unnecessary. Not only is it unnecessary but it shows a degree of lacking out on all sorts of class and respect and appreciation."

"He hasn’t won these five titles by himself. When you put your hands up there and say ‘Yeah, I’ve got five titles and Atletico Madrid has zero’ you’re saying ‘I have five titles’."

The Venezuelan added, "For as talented as he is you cannot go and do this, and doing it during the middle of the game, or as talented as he is there’s a moment for him to defend, for him to be big, for him to show his act in a way that is actually useful for the team he turns his back away and Diego Godin deflects the ball off of him and into the net. That’s unacceptable."

What's next?

Juventus will now shift their focus to the Serie A where they sit at the top of the table. The leaders are scheduled to face Bologna tomorrow night.
