Manchester City vs Chelsea is the highlight of the matchday 26 of the Premier League 2018/19. The meeting between two of the most successful clubs of England in recent years could not have come at a more crucial juncture than this.

While Pep Guardiola is keen on keeping his club's title hopes alive, Sarri is looking to seal a top-four spot for his club in his debut season.

This fixture will feature some of the best footballers in the world with the likes of Eden Hazard, Sergio Aguero, Raheem Sterling, Leroy Sane, and N'Golo Kante.

Well, we all know top quality players like Kevin De Bryune, Frank Lampard, and Goerge Weah have played for both the clubs.

This Sunday when the two teams meet at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester, it will be more than just a routine match for some of the players from both the clubs as they will be going up against their former teammates.

Let's take a look at the current players from both the teams who were teammates earlier.

#1 Kepa Arrizabalaga and Aymeric Laporte

The first set of players on our list is the former Athletic Bilbao pair of Kepa Arrizabalaga and Aymeric Laporte, both of whom made a move from Spain to England in 2018.

While the French defender joined City in the 2017/18 winter transfer window, Kepa became the most expensive goalkeeper in history when he signed up for the Blues last summer.

Both of the players started out from the Athletic B teams and made it into the main squad subsequently.

Laporte spent six seasons with the Basque club, winning Supercup de Espana in 2015 and has also won the Premier League title in his first season with Manchester City.

But Kepa, who is also 24-years old, is yet to win a major honor at the club level. It would be exciting to see how their encounter as rivals turns out.

#2 N'Golo Kante and Riyad Mahrez

Leicester City's fairytale story of the 2015-16 season would've been unimaginable without these two players. Influential midfielder N'Golo Kante and winger Riyad Mahrez were teammates for one season, before the former decided to move to Chelsea.

The two players do not need an introduction nowadays, but both of them were relatively unknown before The Foxes were crowned the unlikely champions in the summer of 2016.

Both of the players have won the prestigious PFA Players' Player of The Year award. Kante also won another league title with his current club in the very next season after his success at the King Power Stadium.

Kante has established himself as one of the best defensive midfielders in the world, but Mahrez has failed to replicate his form after the title-winning season, though he has continued to shown glimpses of brilliance in between.

#3 Pedro and Claudio Bravo

The next pair of players who used to teammates are former Barcelona players Pedro and Claudio Bravo, who've won the historic treble together at the Camp Nou during the 2014-15 season.

Interestingly, Pedro, who is an academy product of La Masia has also played under Pep Guardiola during his spell with the Spanish giants and it was the current City manager that promoted him from the B team to the main squad in 2009. Pedro joined Chelsea during the summer of 2015.

Bravo hasn't started a lot under Guardiola for the last two seasons. Obviously, out of the two, it is the Spanish winger, who has had more success after leaving their former club and has won a league title and FA Cup in England with Chelsea.

#4 Ross Barkley and John Stones

The fourth pair of former teammates who will be going head to head tomorrow are the English duo of John Stones and Ross Barkley, who used to play together at Everton. Ross Barkley is an academy product of the Merseyside club, while Stones joined the club in 2013.

Stones was brought by Pep Guardiola in his first season at Manchester City and paid a huge £47.5 million for the defender. Ever since, he has become one of the finest centre-backs in England and even made it into the Three Lions' squad for the World Cup last summer, where they finished fourth.

On the other hand, Barkley left his boyhood club last summer and joined Chelsea under new manager Maurizio Sarri, after being left out of the final squad for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

#5 Willian and Fernandinho

The final duo of our list who used to play together is the Brazil internationals, Willian and Fernandinho, who now play for Chelsea and Manchester City respectively. They were teammates for six seasons at Ukranian club Shakhtar Donetsk and won four Ukrainian league titles.

Both of them have had a great spell in the Premier League after leaving their former club and have tasted success with their clubs, while also becoming regular starters for their country.

Willian is an academy product of Brazilian club Corinthians and Fernandinho started his career with 2018 Copa Sudamericana champions Athletico Paranaense.

While they were in Ukraine they shared the dressing room with some well-known talents in Europe like Mkhitaryan, Douglas Costa, Darijo Srna and Luiz Adriano. Over the years they have established themselves as the top Brazilians in the Premier League.
