Eden Hazard has failed to find the net in the 2015-16 season

Chelsea winger Eden Hazard has not found the net even once in the 2015-16 season so far but Football Leaks has revealed that Chelsea has slapped a mammoth price tag on the Belgian. Moreover, his below par performance for the Blues could see him leave the club soon.

Chelsea are currently 13th in the Premier League table but are trying to find their way up to the top again with Guus Hiddink as their interim manager. But Hazard has unfortunately failed to find his form. He has also been ridden with injury problems right from the beginning of the campaign.

Yet, if one looks back to the last season where Chelsea won the Premier League, Hazard was the most prolific player. He was also named Chelsea’s Player of the Year and the PFA Player of the Year in the previous season. The Belgian also became the only player in Europe who took 15 penalties and scored from all of them.

Is Roman Abramovich behind this?

However, reports in the UK suggest that Roman Abramovich has put Hazard up for sale. The price set by Chelsea for the 25-year-old, in spite of his poor form, is 80 million pounds which equal to 105 million euros. Chelsea has apparently drawn inspiration from Real Madrid’s purchase of Gareth Bale in 2013 for almost an equal amount.

This is a shrewd move on Chelsea’s part as they are well aware that a transfer ban is looming large on Real Madrid and this might provoke Madrid’s president Florentino Perez to spend big and purchase Hazard before the winter transfer window closes.

Madrid’s head coach, the great Zinedine Zidane has professed his admiration for the Belgian winger on multiple occasions and it will not be a wrong line of thought if one assumes that Zidane would be delighted to add Hazard to his squad.

On the other hand, Perez has already announced that Madrid will not be signing new players in the winter transfer window and so it seems like Zidane won’t get Hazard before February.

Real Madrid has however appealed to FIFA to consider the ban they are about to implement on the club and are hoping to get a grace from football’s governing body. If their appeal is granted then they might get to sign players in the summer transfer window before the ban comes into effect.

Reports also suggest that Chelsea, in a shock move, might go for United’s discarded hero Robin Van Persie who is currently playing for Fenerbahce in the Turkish league.
