The Premier League is getting exciting with each passing match week as a clear leader at the top of the pile is yet to be seen even after 10 games. Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool are joint top of the table with the Citizens at the summit courtesy of a significant goal difference.

Former Manchester United defender and pundit Gary Neville has given his views on the title race that is set to run close this campaign and thinks that Chelsea and Liverpool are the favorites to go all the way this term.

A five-way race is expected with Spurs just two points behind Chelsea who are fourth in the table behind the three joint leaders.

Neville feels that Arsenal and Manchester City will challenge till the very end but may fall short at the last hurdle. He said, “I think Manchester City and Arsenal are the better teams, but can you trust either of them fully yet? I don't think you can. That's not to say they won't go and deliver, but because they're in Europe, and that they've shown glimpses of the old Arsenal and old City, they've got to give me more yet before I trust them.”

Chelsea, Liverpool will benefit from no European competitions

He also explained why he feels that a rejuvenated Chelsea and Liverpool side might edge others because of no midweek games which will help in recovery between games.

“I think the fact that Chelsea have free weeks, and don't have the confusion and disruption of European football, even though it is a good disruption being in the Champions League or Europa League, it gives them a big advantage. I think that gives them a competitive edge, and Liverpool the same, who have players who give huge energetic performances. Their recovery between games is important,” said the Sky Sports pundit.

Neville also said that Mauricio Pochettino's Spurs side can cause problems to the top four sides as he feels that the Argentine has everything in his squad to challenge for the league title.

On Spurs, Neville quipped, “I think Tottenham are as good as Chelsea, there's no doubt, but because Spurs are in European competition I would put Chelsea and Liverpool ahead of them in the Premier League for that reason.”

Manchester United, who are experiencing a dip in form, might come into the reckoning if they start accumulating points on a regular basis from now on. United sit eighth on the table below Watford while Everton are in fifth place just two points behind Spurs.

With such an array of world class talent and some top-notch managers in the Premier League, this season might be the best ever.
