EPL Goal of the month

Another month of Premier league games passes by and like all good things the action, the weekends seem to pass by in a whisker. Like all months, the best league in the world never stops to amuse us. The goals keep pouring from all corners and we have had our share of belters as well as those which required that finesse touch, this month of February.

With all the wonderful strikes going in this month, it’s been quite a task separating the cream and coming up with only the best. Have a look at all the eye-boggling stuff.

A: Gareth Bale vs West Ham

The Tottenham midfield is in “the zone” at the moment. The Welshman is scoring goals at will and it was this time West Ham’s turn to face the music. Bale recovered after being blatantly fouled, received the ball, had the time to look up and assess his options. With the time he has been having, he did the right thing in backing himself.

The winger accelerated, stopped, changed directions and then whipped in a shot that Jussi Jaaskelainen had no prayer of saving with the minimal of backlift.

B: Rafael vs QPR

Rafael’s is spot on to take the ball on the volley and having a go at goal with an instinctive effort. And what an effort it was. Cesar was helpless as he saw the Brazilian’s effort fly in to the top right hand corner of the net.

C: Papiss Cisse vs Southampton

From another angle:

Papiss Cisse lives for the spectacular and this was another example of the skill that the Senegalese possesses. Somewhere, Petr Cech will be smiling, sipping a drink on his couch watching this goal.

D: Jose Enrique vs Swansea

Delicate interplay between Daniel Sturridge and Jose Enrique resulted in one the best goals of the month.

E: Dimitar Berbatov vs Stoke City

Berbatov still has the class and panache to be the deciding factor in a game. And that’s just what happened in this game as his goal eventually was the winner. Asmir Begovic was left grasping at thin air as the Bulgarian squeezed it in from an acute angle into the top corner.

F: Juan Mata vs Newcastle

First of two Chelsea goals in the same game as they came back in the game for the second time and looked to have knocked the stuffing out of Newcastle. It was Juan Mata at his magical best as he curled in from the delicate Frank Lampard lay-off. The shot left Tim Krul, along with fifty thousand Geordies in the stadium, stupefied.

G:Frank Lampard vs Newcastle

The second Chelsea entry from the game against Newcastle. Lampard is turning the clock back as he has been in some form over the last couple of months and this was as good as it gets from the Chelsea legend. Typical Lampard with the sweetest of connection that found nothing but the back of the net.

H: Carlos Tevez vs Chelsea

Carlos Tevez may be returning to Argentina after this the season but he certainly has always given City fans something to talk about. Whether it be on or off the pitch, he seems to enjoy the limelight.

There he was again at the weekend as he drove home a pile driver to put the final nail in the coffin for Chelsea in a game that Manchester City utterly dominated.
