Hull City 0-2 Chelsea

Last night’s action saw Jose Mourinho’s men secure a win against Hull City as they go to the top of the Premier League table. The first goal came from Belgium’s Eden Hazard who put one right into the bottom corner of the net, while Fernando Torres came with the second goal just about three minutes before the final whistle. Eden Hazard is Chelsea’s top scorer with nine league goals. The match also saw Petr Cech collecting a top-flight record of 209 matches without conceding a goal, thus beating out Peter Bonetti’s previous record.

Gareth Barry gave Everton the lead after scoring from a spectacular 20 yard shot against Norwich to open the scoring. It was his 50th goal in the Premier League and third as an Everton player. Kevin Mirallas sealed the victory with an exquisite free-kick just before the hour mark.

Fulham 1-4 Sunderland

On the other hand, Sunderland had a pretty comfortable afternoon as they cruised to victory over Fulham after a sensational performance by Adam Johnson. Johnson opened his goal-scoring account with a free kick in the 29th minute, grabbed the second in the 69th and then sealed his hat-trick from the penalty spot five minutes from the end. Ki Sung-Yeung was the other goal-scorer.

Southampton 1-0 West Brom

Adam Lallana struck the only goal of the game as Southampton took on West Brom at St Mary’s Stadium. It was Gaston Ramirez’s neat flick over Jonas Olsson that spearheaded the attack, as Lallana made no mistake in prodding past Ben Foster.

Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 Crystal Palace

Goals from Jermain Defoe and Christian Eriksen gave Tottenham their third consecutive win as they brushed aside Crystal Palace, with Toronto-bound Defoe came into the match as a second half substitute for Spaniard Roberto Soldado and added to Christian Eriksen’s first half strike.

Manchester United 2 –0 Swansea City

Manchester United secured a crucial 2-0 win against Swansea as Antonio Valencia and Danny Welbeck claimed second-half goals, thus ending their run of three consecutive defeats.
