Charlton Athletic FC are bracing themselves for several bids from Premier League clubs when the transfer window reopens in January for youngster Ezri Konsa. According to reports, both the Manchester clubs, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Liverpool are keeping tabs on the Charlton wonder-kid.

The 18-year-old centre-back has attracted interest from Premier League clubs after he broke into the first team at Charlton under manager Russell Slade.

Konsa’s talent and form have caught the attention of the Premier League giants as reports suggest that numerous scouts from these clubs had been watching the youngster on a regular basis since he became a regular feature at Charlton’s matches in the League One this season.

The representatives from Premier League clubs were reportedly present during Charlton’s 1-1 draw against Oldham on Tuesday, where Konsa played the full 90 minutes.

The youngster joined the Charlton Academy as an under-11 player and was a regular feature at the clubs’ Under-18 and Under-21 level last term. He broke into Russell Slade’s squad this season, managing to establish himself as a part of the first team at The Valley.

The player is comfortable playing at the centre-back, right-back and in the center of the midfield. So far he has made nine appearances for the club since the start of the 2016-2017 campaign.

Konsa is in contract with the Addicks until June 2019, having signed a new contract at the club last December, extending his stay at the League one side.

For Charlton, Konsa is as big a prospect as Joe Gomez, who signed for Liverpool last summer in a deal worth £3.5m.

Gomez has been deemed to be a successful signing despite the defender’s injuries time and again.

The club is already expecting a barrage of offers for the youngster this winter and a possible war of bids can ensue for the centre-back to land the youngster.

Despite his contract expiring in 2019, the youngster may be forced to make a decision regarding his next move in the New Year. Further, the lure of Premier League clubs like Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City as his options, a move out of the Addicks seems to be shaping up already.
