There is no doubt that European football possesses some of the finest attacking trios on the planet. Several top clubs are currently blessed with a host of talented attacking players, while some sides are blessed with a front-line capable of sending chills down the opposition's defence.
Gone are the days when clubs used to line up with two strikers up front. Today, clubs often rely on their front-line or front-three to score the bulk of the goals and clubs such as Barcelona and Real Madrid have been doing this for quite some time now and this season has been no different.
The front-three usually consists of one centre-forward and two wide forwards or wingers. With the influence of wingers becoming more and more, most of the top clubs have adopted the 4-3-3 formation.

#5 Borussia Dortmund (Jadon Sancho, Paco Alcacer and Marco Reus)

It's been a while since Borussia Dortmund had such a good shape to their attack. The front-line of Jadon Sancho, Paco Alcacer and Marco Reus have formed a special connection between them. Sancho is one of the hottest sensations in world football right now, while Alcacer has transformed himself from Barcelona's dead-weight to one of the deadliest strikers in Europe at Dortmund. And then there is Reus, who has put his injury troubles behind and performing on a consistent basis.
Dortmund sit at the top of the Bundesliga and have drawn Tottenham Hotspur in the round of 16 of the Champions League and they will be depending on their front three to produce the goods.

After the departure of Neymar, Barcelona went on to sign the highly talented Ousmane Dembele from Dortmund. Things did not begin well for the Frenchman as he struggled with injuries and conduct off the pitch. Fast-forward to today, Dembele has displaced Coutinho and formed a fearsome front-line with Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi.
Suarez may be on the wane, but he continues to remind us why he is one of the best strikers in the world with his off-the-ball movement. And then there is Messi, who continues to wow the crowds all over the world. Messi has played with several world-class forwards over the years but his connection with Suarez is something special and unique. Despite lacking the size and strength of a natural forward, Roberto Firmino is a deep-lying forward and is arguably the game's sharpest target man. Mohamed Salah is an inverted winger who drifts in and is one of the best goalscorers in world football at present, while Sadio Mane is a natural winger who is gifted with pace and immense work-rate. In open play, the front-three is unparalleled.

Statistically, they have scored more goals than any other front-three. It is unfair that Ligue 1 teams have to deal with the most expensive frontline in club football. PSG have had a remarkable start in Ligue 1 and topped their Champions League group against the likes of Liverpool and Napoli.

With Neymar and Mbappe pulling the strings, Cavani is an integral part of the PSG setup and if PSG want to win their first ever Champions League title, it will largely come down to the form and performances of their front-three.
