Falcao has his heart set on Real Madrid

MADRID, SPAIN – NOVEMBER 25: Radamel Falcao of Club Atletico de Madrid celebrates after scoring his team’s opening goal during the La Liga match between Club Atletico de Madrid and Sevilla FC at Vicente Calderon Stadium on November 25, 2012 in Madrid, Spain.

El Confidencial has reported that Atletico Madrid’s Colombian hitman Radamel Falcao has told his team-mates that he has his heart set on a move to cross-town rivals Real Madrid.

Atletico, who are currently second in the La Liga ahead of Real Madrid, purchased Falcao from Porto last season after the sale of Kun Aguero to Manchester City. It has also been learnt that Real Madrid are ready to activate his 60 million euro release clause in the summer in a bid to land him, and a hefty pay-rise along with a chance to compete for titles both domestic and in Europe might be too tempting to say no to. Falcao himself has stated that a move to a better club is never out of the question, but said that he remains focussed on the task at hand at Atletico for the time being.

Chelsea and Manchester City are the other clubs thought to be interested in his services.
