Kyle Walker has been one of the best defenders in the Premier League this season

After the end of the international fixtures, the spotlight is back on the popular and exciting English Premier League. This brings us back to Fantasy Premier League as the game heads towards Gameweek 8.

With a nail-biting finish to Arsenal’s game, the last gameweek was surely an exciting one. Arsene Wenger has also now been at Arsenal for over 20 years and continues to be an icon in the football world. Liverpool continued their winning streak and Manchester United were held to a frustrating draw by the league table strugglers Stoke City. Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City were finally brought to a halt by Tottenham Hotspur after putting on a brilliant defensive display along with an efficient attack.

The coming gameweek will feature the big face off as Manchester United travel to Anfield and this will be Mourinho’s first North West Derby. The Portuguese will be hopeful of his men getting a brilliant performance against the Reds after a dismal run of games in the league. Elsewhere, N’Golo Kante faces his old team, as Chelsea face defending champions Leicester City at Stamford Bridge.

To help you with Gameweek 8, here’s a list of 5 players who could deliver excellent returns for your FPL team.

#1 Kyle Walker – £6.0m

The Spurs fullback has been nothing but immense for his team. With two assists along with four clean sheets for Tottenham this season, the speedster has been an incredibly important part of the Spurs backline.Walker’s stock continues to rise and any more delay would mean picking him up at an even higher price. The Englishman’s speed and forward runs are a great asset for any team and Mauricio Pocchetino has used him perfectly for his system.

At the moment, there are hardly any other defenders, who offer the kind of return Walker promises to and that makes him a must have. Tottenham’s defensive setup has been great this season and against a West Brom team that is not the best while coming forward, Walker could give great returns.

#2 Jordan Pickford – £4.0m

Pickford has been a lone bright spot for Sunderland this season

The backup goalkeeper had to step in after Vito Manonne’s injury and has been one of Sunderland’s best players. Pickford, on an average, has a really high number of saves, which is a big feat considering the kind of defensive setup he plays with. Despite not keeping a single cleansheet, Pickford has been delivering decent returns solely due to the high number of saves.

He has also been one of the front-runners for a bonus when it comes to Sunderland. The goalkeeper is available for a paltry sum of £4.0m and is the lowest priced keeper who is also a guaranteed starter. A budget option like Pickford also gives you the chance to accommodate an extra premium priced player in your team.

#3 Theo Walcott – £7.7m

Theo Walcott has been in fine form for Arsenal this season

Arsenal’s Theo Walcott has seen a new found emergence after being heavily criticised by fans and critics alike. The winger is back at his old right wing position and has been crucial for the Gunners in getting the goals tally increasing. Walcott claims that there has been a severe change in his mentality, and that is the reason for his new found form.

The Englishman is now the longest serving player under Arsene Wenger and will be hopeful of maintaining his pristine form. Walcott has been involved in six goals for Arsenal, and with easier fixtures headed their way, he could be a great addition to your team. It will be a treat to see how Swansea deal with Walcott’s speed and his ability to get behind the defences.

#4 Son Heung-min – £7.6m

Son has been sensational for Tottenham this season

Son has been exceptional for Spurs in the month of September and is in contention for several player of the month awards. He has undoubtedly been Tottenham’s best player this campaign and has shown brilliant form after Mauricio Pocchetino gave him a run of fixtures. The manager has also hinted at letting Son take

The manager has also hinted at letting Son take penalties after Erik Lamela fluffed a spot-kick in the last match against Manchester City. Due to Harry Kane’s injury, there is a lot more goalscoring responsibility on the Korean’s head, who started the last match upfront. Son hasn’t disappointed and has the best minutes to goals ratio in the league at the moment.

#5 Diego Costa – £10.1m

Diego Costa is the top scorer in the Premier League this season

The Spaniard has been Chelsea’s best performer till now in an otherwise lacklustre start for Antonio Conte’s team. The forward is the current top scorer in the league with six goals and has also come up with two assists.

Premier League defences have had a tough time dealing with Costa and the fixture against Arsenal was the only one where the striker was involved in neither a goal nor an assist.

Costa’s deadly finishing and the desire to score goals is a wonderful asset for Chelsea, who would have been in deep trouble if not for him. He’s brilliant at hassling and causing discomfort to defenders and this makes him a menace to defend against.

The former Atletico Madrid man’s rich vein of form is required if Chelsea want to mount a serious title challenge. Leicester City don’t seem to be the same team from last season and you can be sure that Costa will play a big part in that game.
