Football Transfer Rumors: 31st July 2011

Hey guys, got a lot of rumours for you guy today. Been a busy day in the transfer market and so I’m just going to brief you guys on what’s happened!

PSG Sign Pastore, yes all 40 million pounds

It’s quite shocking the amount of money the French club have got, even stumping Roman Abramovic’s millions of pounds, and it’s all for someone whom is unproven outside the Serie A. To me, that’s a bad signing written all over it. Even Fabregas is apparently worth less than that.

And Chelsea Step Up Their Chase for Modric

After losing out to PSG for Pastore, you guys knew that this would happen. According to Metro, Abramovich is a wee bit unhappy to have lost out on Pastore and is prepared to offer big money to Tottenham to make the deal happen, although Daniel Levy might have more than a few things to say about that. Here’s what they said:

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich will increase the club’s offer to Tottenham for midfielder Luka Modric to around £40m after Paris Saint-Germain thwarted their efforts to sign Argentine midfielder Javier Pastore.

Metro

Interesting that they say it’s Abramovich increasing the club’s offer instead of Villas-Boas. You can already see his power struggle become more evident.

The Cesc Fabregas Transfer Saga

You guys knew that this would be back in here one day or another. Well, so here’s what The People have said:

Barca president Sandro Rossell has cut short his trip to the United States for his club’s pre-season tour and will return to Spain today to continue negotiations in the hope the deal can be concluded early this week.

The People

Well, personally, with this fiasco lasting forever, I don’t see much point in writing on this, it’s pretty self explanatory and the story, well, repetitive.

Liverpool ‘close’ to sealing 12 million pound deal

Well, not much Liverpool stuff at all this morning, but it appears that they are going to take advantage of Birmingham’s weak financial standing to steal their defender Scott Dann sometime soon. The Reds have been keen to strengthen their British talent with them already signing Downing and Jordan Henderson this summer.
