Manchester City is the team to back this Double Gameweek
Manchester City is the team to back this Double Gameweek

FPL managers will be looking forward to Double Gameweek 24, with Manchester City, Fulham, Everton and Burnley playing twice. Gameweek 23 was a pretty good one for FPL managers, with an average total of 58 FPL points indicative of the same.

Some popular FPL assets such as Harry Kane and Jamie Vardy returned to full fitness, while most of the usual suspects like Bruno Fernandes, Ilkay Gundogan, Son Heung-Min and Mohamed Salah all got on the scoresheet.

I had a decent FPL Gameweek, scoring 71 FPL points thanks to hauls from my midfield. My captaincy woes continued, though, with Michail Antonio once again blanking.

FPL managers will be busy deciding their strategy for the upcoming Double Gameweek 25 as well as for Gameweek 24, with popular FPL picks emerging for both. Whatever changes they make, FPL managers should do so ahead of the Gameweek 24 deadline on Saturday afternoon UK time.

Gameweek 24 Deadline: Saturday, 13th February at 11:00 AM (GMT) and 04:30 PM (Indian Standard Time)

Transfers

#1 Gabriel Jesus in for Keinan Davis

Gabriel Jesus.
Gabriel Jesus

I'm making the following two transfers just for the Double Gameweek, with Gabriel Jesus being a great player to take a punt on. The Brazilian striker is slowly starting to get more game-time this season and it's showing in his output, as he has returned in four of his last five starts.

He's likely to start both games, provided he doesn't play in the FA Cup game and should do well considering his brilliant record against Everton. He has netted seven goals in five games against the Toffees.

While I'm likely to sell him after this Gameweek, I have high hopes for him in Double Gameweek 24. Selling Keinan Davis also allows me to field a full team as I plan to play my Bench Boost.

#2 James Tarkowski in for Vladimir Coufal

James Tarkowski.
James Tarkowski.

While I don't want to sell Coufal, West Ham's good run of fixtures concludes in Gameweek 24, with some tough assignments ahead for the Hammers in the weeks ahead. Bringing James Tarkowski in should work in Gameweek 24, with the Englishman set to start two fixtures where Burnley can easily keep clean sheets.

Tarkowski has also been very unlucky on the goal front and has provided considerable goal threat from set-pieces. He could also find the net against a team like Crystal Palace. He's a great differential for this Gameweek, and I'm even considering him as a captaincy option.

Best FPL XI for Gameweek 24

Point Hits taken (if any): - 4

Captain/vice-captain: Ilkay Gundogan (or) Gabriel Jesus (or) James Tarkowski/ Bruno Fernandes

I'm most likely to captain one of my Double Gameweek players, with Gundogan and Tarkowski at the top of my list. Bruno Fernandes is a good differential to consider, though, despite having just one fixture.

Goalkeeper:

Robert Sanchez(L) was brilliant against Burnley.
Robert Sanchez(L) was brilliant against Burnley.

Robert Sanchez (BHA) (£4.4 m) | Opponent: AVL (H): Sanchez produced a goalkeeping masterclass to earn 5 FPL points against Burnley. He's sure to face plenty of shots against Aston Villa and can add to his FPL points tally.

Defenders:

Luke Shaw is in peak FPL form.
Luke Shaw is in peak FPL form.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka (MUN) - £5.5 m | Opponent: WBA(A): Wan-Bissaka produced an assist against Everton and he'll look to keep that good run going with a clean sheet.

Luke Shaw (MUN) - £4.9 m | Opponent: WBA(A): Luke Shaw is finally delivering on his immense attacking potential with another assist in Gameweek 23. He too will look to combine the attacking FPL returns with some clean sheets.

James Tarkowski (BUR) - £5.3 m | Opponent: CRY (A), FUL (H): Burnley's James Tarkowski is a good option for this Double Gameweek. He's likely to keep two clean sheets against a Zaha-less Crystal Palace side and a Fulham team that lacks the cutting edge.

Midfielders:

Son Heung-Min.
Son Heung-Min.

Son Heung-Min (TOT) - £9.7 m | Opponent: MCI (A): Son immediately profited from Kane's return, producing a 10-point FPL haul. He should be effective on the counter-attack against Manchester City's strong defense.

Bruno Fernandes (MUN) - £11.0 m | Opponent: WBA (A): Fernandes has gotten back to form with 24 FPL points in the last two Gameweeks. He'll look to extend that run when United square off against 20th placed West Brom in Gameweek 24.

Mohamed Salah (LIV) - £12.6 m | Opponent: LEI (A): Salah has gone through a lean patch in FPL that has coincided with Liverpool's dip in form. They'll look to resurrect their campaign after the 4-1 defeat to Manchester City, and Salah should get back to his goalscoring best as well.

Ilkay Gundogan (MCI) - £5.8 m | Opponent: TOT (H), EVE (A): Gundogan has offered tremendous FPL value for his price and was unlucky not to earn more FPL points from the previous fixture. While his penalty duties have come under threat, his influence, goal threat and nailed on a starting place makes him an FPL must-have for Gameweek 24.

Forwards:

Ollie Watkins(R) is another good FPL cut-price option.
Ollie Watkins(R) is another good FPL cut-price option.

Michail Antonio (WHU) - £6.4 m | Opponent: SHU (H): Antonio complained of fatigue in FPL Gameweek 23, but he should be fit to lead the line for the Hammers against Sheffield United. He'll look to help his side find the net after a goalless draw in Gameweek 23.

Ollie Watkins (AVL) (FWD) - £6.2 m | Opponent: BHA (A): Ollie Watkins is in great form, scoring in four of the last five games. He should continue his good run of form, given Aston Villa's kind run of fixtures.

Gabriel Jesus (AVL) - £9.2 m | Opponent: TOT (H), EVE (A): Gabriel Jesus is an enticing FPL differential for Gameweek 24, especially given his outstanding goalscoring record against Everton. He should definitely produce an FPL haul if he starts, and his Gameweek 23 benching bodes well for him.
