Barcelona Player Ratings

Juventus v FC Barcelona: Group G - UEFA Champions League
Juventus v FC Barcelona: Group G - UEFA Champions League

Neto - 6/10

Neto didn't have much to do but ensured that he didn't cost Barcelona any points in the absence of Marc-Andre ter Stegen. A reliable performance against his former team.

Sergi Roberto - 7/10

Roberto was preferred to new signing Sergino Dest and used all his experience to keep Chiesa out of the game. The Spaniard went from strength to strength and vindicated his coach's trust in him with a gritty display.

Clement Lenglet - 7/10

Another good outing for Lenglet, who marshalled the backline in the absence of Gerard Pique. Started the game alongside Ronald Araujo and finished it playing alongside Frenkie de Jong, who played as a makeshift central defender after the former was replaced prematurely.

Ronald Araujo - 6/10

Araujo was decent in the first half and made a few crucial interventions to prevent the home side from scoring. Was replaced by Sergio Busquets for the second half after picking up an injury.

Jordi Alba - 6/10

Alba didn't cover himself in glory and was also guilty of not getting enough accuracy with his crosses. The Spaniard, however, helped Barcelona record a clean sheet despite blowing hot and cold throughout the game. Got into a decent scoring position in the first half but skied his shot.

Miralem Pjanic - 8/10

Superb performance from Pjanic on his return to Turin. The Bosnian midfielder ran the show from the centre of the park and showed Juventus exactly what they were missing. Kept things ticking in midfield, be it with Frenkie De Jong or Sergio Busquets.

Frenkie de Jong - 7/10

De Jong was decent in the first half but was tasked with filling in as a central defender after Araujo's withdrawal. The Dutchman's versatility and tactical intelligence was on display, as he held his ground in the Barcelona rearguard against a team as dangerous as Juventus.

Pedri - 9/10

Magnificent performance from the young Spaniard. Was a bundle of energy for Barcelona and made decisive contributions on both ends of the pitch. Pedri's attacking talent is well documented, but his defensive work-rate really stood out on the night and was much-needed in a tricky European encounter.

Ousmane Dembele - 7/10

Was heavily involved in the opening exchanges of the game and rewarded Koeman's faith in him with a goal via a deflection. Dembele's unpredictability on the ball was a proper handful for the Juventus defender, as they struggled to deal with his rapid change of pace and ability to strike the ball with both feet. Seems to be returning to his best.

Lionel Messi - 7/10

Not his best night, but Messi got in on the act with a late penalty that he dispatched comfortably. The Barcelona captain did not enjoy the most productive outing by his lofty standards but was all smiles after the game, as Barcelona recorded an important victory.

Antoine Griezmann - 7/10

Griezmann was unlucky not to have scored, as he struck the post twice either side of half time. The Frenchman did everything right apart from the finish and produced one of his best performances under Koeman in a tough European night.

Barcelona substitutes

Juventus v FC Barcelona: Group G - UEFA Champions League
Juventus v FC Barcelona: Group G - UEFA Champions League

Sergio Busquets - 6.5/10

Busquets came on as a second-half substitute and was deployed in a double pivot alongside Pjanic. Performed well after being introduced and looked more comfortable playing alongside the Bosnian. Added more tenacity and experience since coming on.

Ansu Fati - 6/10

Fati troubled Juventus with his pace and direct running after coming on and won a penalty in stoppage time. Should have scored in the closing stages of the game but tried to be too unselfish and pass the ball to Braithwaite when he was clean through on goal.

Junior Firpo - N/A

Firpo came on to see off the game and didn't have enough time to make an impact.

Martin Braithwaite - N/A

Much like Firpo, Braithwaite didn't contribute enough to warrant a rating.
