Atletico Madrid thrashed Betis, much to the delight of Diego Pablo Simeone, although they had to come back twice in the game. However, within three minutes, Falcao came up with a goal to equalise, scoring from a Raul Garcia corner. Just before the first half ended, Atletico defender Juanfran had his own moment of shame, as he scored a humiliating own goal to put the home side up 2-1 at the break. In the second half, Falcao went off after scoring from the penalty spot, a goal which drew Atlético level. Diego Costa, who came on for Falcao, needed less than 10 minutes to score, and Raul Garcia came up with another goal in the dying embers of the game. Atletico Madrid have now taken 13 points from a possible 15 and have the league’s top goalscorer Falcao in their ranks, who with his two goals in Seville now totals seven, one more than Messi.
