#1 Matthijs de Ligt

Several big club in Europe have been linked with Matthijs de Ligt, following the Dutchman's impressive season with Ajax. However, Liverpool might be the team which suits De Ligt the most due to the presence of his compatriot Virgil van Dijk.
Many have witnessed how an underdog Dutch national team transformed into a major European force under De Ligt and Van Dijk's resolute partnership in the centr of the defense. The Oranje even recorded clean sheets against the likes of France and Germany in the UEFA Nations League, thanks to their imposing centre-back duo.
Joel Matip has done well to compliment Van Dijk throughout this campaign, but many believe the 27-year-old is not the perfect partner for the former Southampton man. De Ligt has even outclassed his Cameroonian counterpart on several defensive aspects, despite being eight years younger than Matip.
The 19-year-old has everything necessary to thrive under Klopp. He has excellent passing accuracy and can score from set-piece situations. He takes no prisoners in defending, registering an average of four clearances per game in all competitions.
Although Liverpool have denied their interest in De Ligt, the Reds would do well to sign the talented toungster.
