N'Golo Kante was a very crucial part of Leicester's Premier League miracle makers and hence Chelsea knew they were getting a great player when they bought him in the summer. And boy were they right!

Kante played the role of midfield destroyer to perfection as Chelsea lifted the Premier League title in Antonio Conte's first season in charge.

The Frenchman, alongside Nemanja Matic, were crucial in Conte's 3-5-2 system working. Even the best attackers struggled against them, as armed with just a bright smile Kante put in tackle after tackle. The then underrated midfielder got his due recognition in the form of the PFA and FWA awards.

This was Manchester City's season. Not only did they amass a 100 points, but they also scored 106 goals along the way. Each of Sergio Aguero, Raheem Sterling, Kevin De Bruyne and Leroy Sane had a great chance of winning the Premier League title but ultimately it could not have gone to anyone other than Mo Salah.

In his first season at Liverpool, the Egyptian banged in a Premier League record 32 goals. To accompany that he also managed 10 assists. Although Salah had one of the best individual Premier League season's ever, Liverpool could only finish 4th but it was the start of something special as he bagged both prizes.

Another season where Pep Guardiola's City came up trumps. But it was very very close, as Liverpool finished only 1 point behind them losing only 1 game all season. Both Bernardo Silva and Raheem Sterling had great seasons, with the latter's 17 goals and 10 assists earning him the Writers' Award.

But the undoubted star of the season was Virgil van Dijk. Liverpool's record signing won the PFA award and was the reason Liverpool did so well. He came in and completely shored up their defence, in the process never getting dribbled past in the entire season.
