Manchester City underwent a major overhaul this summer as per new manager Pep Guardiola's wishes as the Spaniard begins his new chapter in England. All was going well for the Spaniard as City won their first 10 matches in a row under him but are currently experiencing a slight slump with the team longing for a win since the eventful 3-3 draw with Celtic.

Guardiola is said to have started planning his targets for the next transfer window with Cesc Fabregas being one of them. According to the Mirror, City are planning a swoop for the midfielder.

Cesc Fabregas has seen his role at Chelsea being limited under the new management of Antonio Conte as the Italian has preferred the duo of Nemanja Matic and N'Golo Kante over the Spaniard. Chelsea, too, were not getting the desired results last month but are back on track after consecutive league wins over Hull City and reigning champions, Leicester.

Fabregas joined Chelsea from Barcelona in 2014 in a deal worth around £30 million but has played just 87 minutes of league football under Antonio Conte. Guardiola is said to be unhappy with the midfield options available at his disposal and is ready to splash the cash on Fabregas with his price said to be around £20 million.

The creative midfielder had offers from Juventus and AC Milan this summer but he rejected them to stay at Stamford Bridge.

Manchester City are said to be willing to offer him a £160,000 per week deal to kick-start his career in the Premier League. Fabregas had been signed by Guardiola back in 2011 which may help in persuading the player who is in search of regular playing time.

Fabregas had earlier stated that he wants to end his playing career in the MLS and with City having a sister club in the United States, Fabregas may be tempted in joining Guardiola's regime at the Etihad.

City are rumored to be offloading the likes of Pablo Zabaleta and Vincent Kompany in the summer with Guardiola wanting to have fresh faces in their ranks.

The Citizens can go on top of the league tonight with a victory over Southampton at home. With Arsenal and Spurs dropping points this weekend, City can maintain their stronghold at the summit of the Premier League.
