Arsenal have reportedly stepped up their interest in Brentford winger Bryan Mbeumo, according to Caught Offside. The 25-year-old has been in fine form in the Premier League this season, bagging six goals already in eight matches. Only Erling Haaland of Manchester City has outscored him in this campaign.

Mbeumo is tied with Chelsea starlet Cole Palmer in the rankings but the latter has five assists to his name. Liverpool were reportedly interested in Mbeumo in the summer, but this did not happen perhaps because of the arrival of Arne Slot as the manager at Anfield. Newcastle United have also been keen on getting Mbeumo.

The Frenchman is known for playing on the wings as well as cutting inside to create chances up front. He also has the enviable ability to be at the right place at the right time.

Mbeumo is highly admired by Brentford manager Thomas Frank, who has always given him the position he seeks. Although his pace on the right-hand side of the Bees' attack makes him stand out, Mbeumo's silky passing and shooting are widely appreciated as well.

The Frenchman can play as an out-and-out striker too, and this serves Arsenal's purpose very well. Whether they will bid for him in January or not is not clear at the moment, but Mbeumo is bound to attack layers into their attacking setup. It remains to be seen if the north London outfit sign him in order to get their hands on silverware.

Arsenal and Liverpool face each other soon in the Premier League

Arsenal provided their rivals Liverpool and Manchester City with some comfort after losing 0-2 to AFC Bournemouth on Saturday, October 19. The Reds and Cityzens, meanwhile, picked up victories over Chelsea and Wolverhampton Wanderers, respectively, over the weekend.

At this moment, the Gunners are positioned in the third spot of the EPL table with 17 points to their name. Liverpool and City hold the first two positions, with 21 and 20 points inside their respective kitties. Manager Mikel Arteta knows that to fight for the title, they will have to get the better of their opponents soon.

The two clubs - Arsenal and Liverpool - go head-to-head against each other at the Emirates Stadium in London on Sunday, October 27. The winner of this duel is bound to take a lot of brownie points with them. Hosts Arsenal will be keen on not letting their opponents get away easily.
