Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel has expressed satisfaction with Joao Cancelo's performances and did not rule out signing the full-back permanently.

Cancelo joined Bayern from Manchester City in January on a six-month loan deal. The Bundesliga giants reportedly have the option to make his transfer permanent in the summer for €70 million.

The 27-year-old's professional career began at Benfica, following which he had spells at Valencia, Inter Milan, and Juventus. He joined Manchester City in 2019, where he made 154 appearances across all competitions.

The 41-capped Portugal international has played 19 times for Bayern, scoring once and picking up six assists. Sky Germany recently reported that the club does not intend to exercise its option to buy Cancelo at the end of his loan spell.

Arsenal and Barcelona are keeping an eye on Cancelo's future, as they see him as the ideal signing ahead of the new season.

Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel, however, has claimed Cancelo is ‘really happy’ in Germany. He did not rule out the possibility of extending his stay at the club beyond this season either. He said (via Metro):

‘‘I have the impression that he feels very comfortable here. But in the end all parties are part of the decision. His desire in training is unique. I have the feeling that he is really happy here. We’ll discuss everything else after the end of the season.’’

Real Madrid and Manchester City show interest in Bayern Munich star: Reports

Real Madrid and Manchester City have both expressed interest in Bayern Munich defender Alphonso Davies, according to reports from Germany.

Real Madrid are looking to strengthen at left-back as Ferland Mendy's injury troubles have forced Carlo Ancelotti to use midfielder Eduardo Camavinga as a full-back.

Meanwhile, with Manchester City keen to move on from Joao Cancelo, Pep Guardiola has resorted to having center-backs Manuel Akanji and Nathan Ake play out of position. Hence, the Premier League giants are also eyeing reinforcement on the left side of the defense.

Sky Sports Deutschland's Florian Plettenberg reported on the two club's interest in Davies. He also stated that Bayern Munich consider the Canadian "unsaleable" and are keen on extending the 22-year-old's contract beyond 2025.
