Ederson — 6.5/10

Couldn't do much for PSG's opener, and apart from a dodgy moment in the first half as he sliced a clearance, Ederson was solid. Came off his line to stifle PSG attacks on a couple of occasions.

Kyle Walker — 6.5/10

A torrid first half saw him get overrun on the flanks, but he was much better in the second. Made most clearances for City (three), and his pace was vital in helping deal with Neymar and Mbappe's runs.

John Stones — 6.5/10

Ventured higher up the pitch than Dias and had a decent outing where he didn't have to do too much. Tidy on the ball and played a role in the opening goal.

Ruben Dias — 7/10

Solid defensive display from one of the most reliable central defenders in Europe at the moment. Shut down Kylian Mbappe through the middle, chipped in with three tackles, two interceptions, and two clearances. Won four of his eight duels.

Joao Cancelo — 5/10

One of Cancelo's more forgettable displays of an otherwise brilliant 2020/21 campaign. Cut a frustrated figure for most of his 60 minutes as he was asked to hold his position instead of drifting infield and was run over by Di Maria. Hooked for Oleksandr Zinchenko.

Rodri — 6/10

Rodri was slow to react to much of the first half as he failed to impose himself on PSG's midfield, who moved the ball far too quickly for him. Dismal first 45, but a good recovery in the second half.

Ilkay Gundogan — 7.5/10

The German metronome continued his superb form for City as he helped them gain control of the game in the second 45. Registered more touches (116) and passes (107) than any player on the pitch, and won five of his nine duels. Evaded PSG's press excellently and was utterly dominant in the middle.

Bernardo Silva — 6.5/10

Bernardo created arguably the best chance City had in the first 45 for Foden, and his running helped stretch PSG out. An industrious display from the Portuguese who combined well with Mahrez and co on the right.

Phil Foden — 7/10

He was relatively restricted in terms of his movement in the first 45 but was more lively in the second, showcasing his surreal dribbling ability on numerous occasions. The tie could have been well and truly over if Foden had his shooting boots on as he found himself in a couple of brilliant positions.

Kevin De Bruyne — 7.5/10

The Belgian was a victim of his side's set-up, having been asked to operate as a false nine with no focal point to play off. However, De Bruyne ultimately came up with the equaliser with a beautiful curling ball that beat Navas in goal. A combative display in the final third from City's skipper for the night.

Riyad Mahrez — 8/10

Was kept in check by Bakker in the beginning, but as he grew into the game, Mahrez was an absolute menace. Was fouled more than any City player (four) with joint-highest dribbles completed (three), won more duels than anyone on the pitch (ten), and won City the game with one absolutely stunning strike from a free-kick.

Substitutes

Oleksandr Zinchenko (Cancelo, 61') — 6.5/10

Helped City improve since coming onto the pitch and was much more effective that Cancelo, who had an off night. Was neat on the ball and registered an assist for De Bruyne's equaliser.
