Manchester City target Eliaquim Mangala who plays for Primeira Liga FC Porto has claimed that he would rather sign for Chelsea if given the chance.

“It is true that I love the Premier League because it is a spectacular championship,” he admitted while talking to Bein Sports. “In January, there were discussions with City, but it fell through because the two clubs could not reach an agreement. Every player wants to play in the biggest clubs. I am an ambitious player and the team that can help me win titles is the one that interests me.”

When asked which club he would prefer personally, he said, “City or Chelsea? Chelsea because it is London.”

“My goal now is the World Cup. We will see what happens after that. I told Jorge Mendes [Mangala's agent] that I don’t want to know anything about the transfer window until then.”

“What interests me is a team that allows me to win titles. Paris St Germain is growing and I wish them a lot of success,” he was quoted on Sky Sports.

The France International has been heavily linked with a move to the Ethiad Stadium since the last six months, with rivals Manchester United and Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain recently joining the race.

The 23 years old had appeared for Porto in a total of 32 matches, having scored 5 times and assisting once.
