#5 Sherwood on how Tottenham cope without signings

Former Tottenham manager Tim Sherwood has lauded praise on Spurs for being able to operate without making any major signings. The north Londoners haven’t signed a single soul in the last two windows and yet, they are just 5 points away from table-toppers Liverpool.

And now, Tim Sherwood has opined that the reason they can cope with hardly spending money on the transfer market is due to the fact that the Lilywhites make quality signings. He also spoke about why Arsenal should be more patient with Unai Emery.

"The reason why Tottenham can cope with [hardly spending any money] is that since Pochettino's been at Tottenham [five years] they have signed 27 players," Sherwood said.

"He [Poch] doesn't need so many [players because he can cope]. He [Emery] has been their 10 minutes. He needs bodies. He's had one transfer window. You have to give him at least three or four transfer windows to bring his own people in.”

Sherwood then spoke on the importance of spending money wisely in the transfer market. He cited Tottenham’s acquisition of Dele Alli from the Championship as a good sign of scouting and also questioned Arsenal as to why they can’t do the same and sign young players with a huge potential ceiling.

"Now, with £40 million, what are you going to bring in with any quality? It's not all about how much you spend. It's about having the right scouting network... to find the talent. Whether they are £5m like Alli. Do you see that sort of transfer at Arsenal? We haven't seen it at all!"

#4 Spurs target speaks on rumours

Andersen seemed unfazed by the stories
Andersen seemed unfazed by the stories

Earlier last month, Tottenham were linked with Sampdoria defender Joachim Andersen. The move, however, never happened as the Lilywhites completed two consecutive windows without signing anyone.

Nevertheless, this doesn’t mean that Andersen won’t join Spurs as he claimed that his criterion to join a club is for the team to have good plans for him. As a result, it doesn’t matter to him as to which club he signs for as long as they have a good project in hand.

He said: “It’s hard to say [which is my favourite league]. England, Spain or Italy. But it comes mostly to the club, which must have a good plan for me, and it must make sense in the long term.

“I have to take the right steps at the right times. So I don’t really care if it’s Tottenham, Inter or Atlético Madrid.”

#3 Rashford and Aubameyang can play for Barca

Former Barcelona star Patrick Kluivert has claimed that not many players have the ability to play for the mighty Barcelona. However, he heaped praise on Marcus Rashford and stated that he believes the young Englishman can play for the Catalans.

He also added that Arsenal’s Patrick Aubameyang also has what it takes to play for the Blaugrana. However, for Kluivert, the best out of the lot is Marcus Rashford.

"I like Marcus Rashford, a lot,” he said. “It will be really difficult to get him over. But he is a good player.

“I don’t see a lot of players who can play in Barcelona. Aubameyang, perhaps he can play. There is not a lot. Maybe some players who can play in La Liga, young players.

“But for me, I think the best one is Marcus Rashford.”

#2 Forsberg asks Liverpool target to stay put

Swedish midfielder Emil Forsberg has given transfer advice to his RB Leipzig team-mate amid rumours linking Timo Werner to Liverpool. The German star is being tracked by the Red as Jurgen Klopp wants to bring his compatriot to Anfield.

However, he has been advised against the move by Forsberg. According to him, Werner is the face of German football and that RB Leipzig should do everything to keep him. He also added that Werner is comfortable in Germany but also stated that the forward should do what his gut feeling tells him.

“Timo is the new face of German football. He’s the future. To keep him at RB would be great for the whole club," he said.

“I know that he feels very comfortable in Leipzig and with what he has at the club. But I can’t talk him into anything. He has to trust his gut feeling.”

Eden Hazard might finally join Real Madrid
Eden Hazard might finally join Real Madrid

Eden Hazard has been linked with Real Madrid for a long time now and it might finally reach a conclusion in the summer of 2019 as the superstar himself claimed that he has made a decision.

And now, reports from Spain claim that Real Madrid have already closed the deal ahead of the Clasico to bring the former Lille star. As of now, the hunt for a new house for the Belgian is on the go.

Meanwhile, Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko is currently at AC Milan as he is spending a season with the San Siro outfit on loan. And now it seems as though that could change as, according to reports, the Italian outfit have taken the decision to make his move permanent by exercising the buy-out clause in the summer.
