#5 Everton reject bid for Gueye

Everton manager Marco Silva has admitted that the club have rejected a bid for Idrissa Gueye from PSG. With an injury to Marco Verratti and the contractual stand-off with Adrien Rabiot, PSG are in need of a midfielder.

As a result, they had launched a bid for the Everton star. However, it was rejected instantly as Silva claimed that he is a crucial player for the Toffees and the only way they can sign an Everton is to pay what the player deserves.

"We have rejected the offer," Silva said. "He is a really important player to us, we don't put [players] on the market.

"For clubs to buy our players, they have to look for the value of the player. I cannot see this price as the right value for the player.

Silva further emphasized the importance of Gueye and suggested that Everton would do everything possible to keep him at the club beyond this window.

"You know my opinion since the first day you started speaking about this possible offer.

"From a technical point of view, as a manager, he is a really important player for us, and he is one player we don't think to lose in this market."

Finally, he suggested that the ultimate decision over the player depends on the club but reiterated that Gueye is a very important player in his eyes.

"Of course, after some moments it is a matter of money and it is up to the club to decide, but from my technical point of view he is a player who is really important for us."

#4 Emery on transfers

Emery hopes to bring two players
Emery hopes to bring two players

Arsenal manager Unai Emery has claimed that the Gunners are working hard to bring reinforcements in this window. The Gunners have been linked with some players – Denis Suarez and Ivan Perisic to name a few – and Emery revealed that it is hard to bring new faces between the season.

Emery also admitted that the club need two players and claimed that they are looking for players who can help the cause at the Emirates and would rather not have anyone come if that is not the case.

"This transfer (window) is not easy and the message is the club is working on different players and the possibility if it can be is good for us," Emery said.

"We are looking at two different players and the possibility they can come. If they aren't coming to help us like we want, I prefer they don't come."

#3 Rudiger on Callum Hudson-Odoi

Chelsea want to keep him
Chelsea want to keep him

Antonio Rudiger has urged Chelsea to do whatever they can to keep youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi at the club. The youngster has been linked with a move out of the club with Bayern Munich desperate to sign him.

The young Englishman is also keen on a move as he has reportedly put in a transfer request after rejecting an offer from Chelsea worth £85,000-per-week. However, even then, his team-mate Antonio Rudiger believes that he shouldn’t be allowed to leave.

Rudiger believes that a talent like him shouldn’t be let go of and that the Blues should tie him down on a long-term deal.

“What I can say is clear: Chelsea have to make him stay,” he said. “It will be a pity if this young talent leaves us. He decides his future but Chelsea need to give him a new contract.”

#2 Pochettino doesn’t want new signings

Quite shocking if true

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp claimed that Lilywhites manager Mauricio Pochettino doesn’t want to sign anyone as he is happy with the players that he has at his disposal at north London

Spurs have lost Harry Kane and Dele Alli to injuries and there is a chance that they could sign players to strengthen their bench, especially after their atrocious showing against Crystal Palace.

However, despite all of that, Harry Redknapp believes that the Argentine is happy with the small squad that he has and thinks that he already has the players that he needs.

“I don’t think Poch wants anyone," Redknapp was quoted as saying

“He’s not been desperate. People tell me they [the club] have come up with players but he likes a small squad and he’s happy. He feels like he’s got players there who can come in.”

#1 Hazard could come for cheap

Not sure if Madrid would wait that long
Not sure if Madrid would wait that long

According to football finance expert Kieran Maguire, Real Madrid could sign Eden Hazard for just £35 million if they wait for another year. The Belgian has been linked with the Galacticos for a while now and it seems they are playing the waiting game to reduce the price.

Hazard’s contract ends in 2020 and Maguire thinks that his price would be £70 million in the summer and would go down by half to £35 million next January, when he will have just 6 months in his contract.

“Other clubs are looking to wind down the clock in terms of his contract. He’s got 18 months to go, you would probably have to pay £120m for him now,” he said.

“But if you leave that to next summer it will probably drop to £70m. And the leave that to 12 months, it could be £35m.”
