Inter Milan are eyeing Real Madrid defender

Inter Milan are reportedly interested in signing Real Madrid defender Nacho Fernandez in the summer.

Nacho's current contract with Los Blancos expires this summer and he is yet to extend his deal. He has made 41 appearances for the Madrid-based side across competitions this season, starting 25 games.

The Spaniard is a massively experienced campaigner. He has been a part of Real Madrid's senior team since graduating from the academy in 2012. He has made 316 appearances for the club and has also won 23 trophies with the club.

The 33-year-old boasts massive experience in the European circuit and despite entering the twilight of his career is still a useful player. He is also very versatile, having played in all four positions in the backline over the years.

Inter Milan, on the other hand, are keen to bolster their defense in the summer. The Nerazzuri will likely lose Milan Skriniar to Paris Saint-Germain. Hence, the UEFA Champions League finalists are exploring the market to fill the void.

Nacho could be a useful option. Apart from his wealth of experience and ability, he will also be available on a free transfer. Hence, Inter are exploring the chances of completing a move. A renewal offer from Real Madrid for the Spaniard, however, could hurt the Serie A giants' ambitions.

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti reacted to the defeat against Valencia

Real Madrid suffered a 1-0 defeat against Valencia at the Mestalla in the La Liga on Sunday, May 21. The result, however, was overshadowed by controversy as Brazilian attacker Vinicius Junior was the subject of constant racist slurs during the game.

Speaking to the media after the game, manager Carlo Ancelotti claimed that it's impossible to play football under those circumstances. He further added that he would have kept the same notion had his team won the game. The Italian manager said (via Los Blancos' website);

"I'm not the best person to say what to do, but you can't play football like that. I would say the same if we'd won, we didn't play well, it's difficult to look for motivation. This is too serious, they threw a ball during an attack, they insult Vinicius all the time and then they show him a red card."

He further added:

"I'm very sad, we have to put an end to this because it's 2023, racism shouldn't exist. It's true that now there's a protocol, the referee has explained that first you have to warn people and if they do it again, we go home."

With the defeat, Real Madrid are now third in La Liga with 71 points from 35 matches and trail Atletico by a point.
