Surprise PL club keen on signing exit-linked Manchester City star Jack Grealish: Reports

Manchester City winger Jack Grealish has accepted that his career at the Etihad is over. According to talkSPORT, fellow Premier League side Newcastle United have shown interest in signing the 29-year-old on loan. However, as per the same report, Serie A side Napoli are also keen on the winger, so the Magpies might face stern competition in the race for his signature.

Grealish joined City from Aston Villa in the 2021 summer window and has played 157 matches across competitiond, scoring 17 goals and delivering 23 assists. As per Metro, the Cityzens are ready to sell the winger for £40 million.

It also says that Grealish has fallen out of favour at City, and the think-tank isn't expected to include him in their FIFA Club World Cup squad too. The indication was already made during City's final Premier League game against Crystal Palace, where Guardiola handed Claudio Echeverri his debut in the second half in place of the £100 million signing.

The Sun reported that City are ready to deal with a £60 million loss and sell Grealish, who has two years left in his existing contract of a weekly wage of £300k, and that his entourage is already looking for a new club.

Manchester City to reportedly finalise three new signings soon

According to teamTALK, Manchester City are expected to confirm three new signings ahead of their FIFA Club World Cup, as manager Pep Guardiola wants them in the squad ahead of the competition.

The first major signing will be AC Milan midfielder Tijjani Reijnders, who recorded 15 goals and five assists last season, and underwent his medicals on June 7, as reported by Fabrizio Romano.

The deal was an easy one for the Cityzens, as Milan will be missing out on UEFA Champions League football next season, unlike City. However, a fee of an initial £46.3 million is attached to it, considering his contract at Milan runs till 2030.

The other two key targets for Guardiola are Rayan Ait-Nouri and Rayan Cherki. While Ait-Nouri, the Wolverhampton Wanderers full-back, is expected to sign a deal worth £36.3 million soon, the club are in advanced talks with Olympique Lyon forward Cherki.

FIFA has offered a deadline of June 10 for finalising the signings for the Club World Cup. Manchester City are expected to secure all the deals before their first fixture against Moroccan outfit Wydad AC on June 18.
