Inter put in a spirited display against Sevilla
Inter put in a spirited display against Sevilla

Samir Handanovic - 6/10

There was not much he could've done about any of the Sevilla goals, and he didn't really have too much else to do.

Diego Godin - 6/10

He scored another goal in a losing cause in a European final. Godin was also responsible for an Inter defence that looked shaky defending set-pieces all game. He should've shown some leadership and taken the responsibility of communication at the back. The 34-year-old also didn't mark De Jong well enough for Sevilla's first goal.

Stefan de Vrij - 5/10

While Godin is the obvious leader in the back three, the responsibility of communication also lies with De Vrij who plays in the middle of the three. With proper communication, there is no way that a goal threat as significant as De Jong goes unmarked at the back post off a set-piece.

Alessandro Bastoni - 5/10

The young man was playing in one of the biggest games of his life, but didn't really get the help that he should've from the more experienced players around him.

Danilo D'Ambrosio - 4/10

D'Ambrosio didn't really defend well against Reguilon and Ocampos, regularly committing fouls and giving Sevilla free-kicks. He also missed a golden chance to score, after being set up for a free header by a great Young cross.

Ashley Young - 6/10

The Englishman was troubled by Sevilla's movement on his flank, and couldn't really get close enough to Navas very often. Going forward, Young was a threat, though, producing some really good crosses into the box.

Marcelo Brozovic - 6/10

He produced a moment of sheer quality when he set up Godin's equaliser for Inter with a beautifully executed free-kick.

Nicolo Barella - 5/10

The Italian couldn't really get his dynamism in midfield going as he was really well marshalled by the Sevilla midfield.

Roberto Gagliardini - 4/10

He was really not a factor in the game at all. He couldn't get to grips with Banega's technical excellence, and was easily second-best in that individual duel.

Lautaro Martinez - 3/10

After a star turn in the semifinal against Shakhtar Donetsk, Martinez was non-entity in the final tonight.

Romelu Lukaku - 7/10

The pace and power that won him the penalty for the first goal is what he can do to an opposition defender. Lukaku was through on goal in the second half and missed a golden opportunity to put Inter ahead. His night was compounded by the late own goal for the eventual Sevilla winner.

Christian Eriksen - 5/10

He had one chance to put a good ball into the box from the right flank, but Reguilon easily blocked it. In a way, that moment summed up his whole season.

Alexis Sanchez - 4/10

After Bounou smothered a Moses shot, Alexis had a big opportunity on the rebound, but he scuffed his shot and allowed Kounde the time to clear off the line.

Victor Moses - 3/10

He missed a great chance to put Inter back on level terms at 3-3. After that, he was lazy in possession and gave the ball away in his own half when Inter needed to be moving the ball forward quickly.

Antonio Candreva - 5/10

Came on only in injury time, and immediately had a big opportunity after a cross found him running onto it at the near post, but he couldn't make solid enough contact.
