In what appears to be absolutely outlandish reports arising from Spain, Sevilla fans are fervently involved in finding a bride for Marko Marin, a move that could persuade him to stay at Andalusia.
The 24-year-old Chelsea midfielder, who is currently on loan with the Sevillistas, has been extremely impressive in his appearances for the club and his brace against Slask Wroclaw in the Europa League qualifiers made him the crowd favourite.
German tabloid Bild reported that since Sevilla fans already succeeded in a similar attempt with former FC Schalke player Ivan Rakitic, who refused to leave Seville after getting married to a local girl despite receiving better offers, they are hopeful of enticing the German international too, by finding him a local match.
Marin, fondly referred to as ‘German Messi’ joined Chelsea from Werder Bremen for a transfer fee of £7 million last summer. He made only 16 appearances for Chelsea and was pushed further down the pecking order after the arrival of Andre Schurrle. Jose Mourinho, then, loaned Marin out to Sevilla for whole season.
