Barcelona were amongst the goals once again, but their 2019-20 season was a monumental disaster. The Catalan giants finished trophyless for the first time since the days of Tata Martino, while their misery has been compounded by a series of events on and off the pitch in recent weeks.

Having suffered the worst defeat in the club's history in their 8-2 demolition against Bayern Munich, Barcelona were also rocked by the news that Lionel Messi wants to leave the club this summer. The Argentine, who once again led from the front for the Blaugrana, has reportedly lost faith in the club and is eager to secure a transfer.

Nevertheless, Barcelona scored 110 goals from 51 games in all competitions in the 2019-20 campaign. Messi enjoyed yet another outstanding season on a personal level, but that's where the good news ended for the Catalan giants.

Manchester United started the season poorly but found their feet since the turn of the year. The Red Devils were boosted by the addition of Bruno Fernandes in the January transfer window, as the Portuguese midfielder galvanized the squad and spearheaded them to a third-place finish in the Premier League.

Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial enjoyed their most productive seasons as professional footballers, while the emergence of Mason Greenwood proved to be a proper blessing for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Although Manchester United finished trophyless, they booked their place in next season's Champions League campaign and also reached the semi-finals of the Europa League, FA Cup and the Carabao Cup.

The Red Devils scored 112 goals from 61 games in all competitions but failed to finish the season on a high, having lost to Sevilla in the Europa League semis.

#6 Inter Milan | 54 games, 113 goals

Inter Milan finally made their presence felt in the 2019-20 season after a few years in the wilderness. Under the leadership of Antonio Conte, the Nerazzurri mounted a title challenge, although they eventually lost out Juventus post-lockdown.

Nevertheless, Inter were no pushovers and delivered a series of eye-catching displays, as they began the season in stunning form. With the likes of Lautaro Martinez and Romelu Lukaku leading line, Conte's side were a force to reckoned with and also added to their squad in the January transfer window.

The Serie A giants finished just a point behind champions Juventus and were beaten in the Europa League final by Sevilla. In what proved to be a successful season despite finishing trophyless, Inter scored 113 goals in 54 games across all competitions.
