Atalanta have grown in leaps and bounds in the last three years under the management of Gian Pierro Gasperini and despite being a modest side, they currently find themselves rubbing shoulders with the elite of the continent.

Last season, the Bergamo side finished in third place to secure Champions League football for the first time and topped the goalscoring chart in the process and anyone who thought that was a fluke was in for a rude shock, as they have continued from where they left off and are currently punching above their weight this term.

Atalanta seem to have perfected the art of goalscoring and they score with relative ease, putting to shame those who brandish the Serie A as the home of defensive football and the birthplace of catenaccio.

As a pointer, whereas some clubs would be content if they could score seven goals in seven games, La Dea have scored seven goals on three different occasions this season (with two of those away from home), while they have scored five on a further two occasions.

The fact that their defence is not exactly the most resolute (34 goals conceded in 25 Serie A matches) makes their games pure bliss for neutrals and lovers of attacking football.

Watching Atalanta play is almost like watching a video game, with the ease of their movement and precision of their attacking play indicative of the brilliance of Gasperini's methods.

Even more impressive is that unlike the other sides on this list, Atalanta do not have a bonafide goalscorer and the goals are very much evenly spread, evidenced by Robin Gosens having contributed eight goals from the defence.
