- Antoine Griezmann has signed a new deal with Atletico Madrid that is set to keep him at the club until 2021. The forward has been long linked with clubs across Europe for his stellar performances, guiding Atletico to a second Champions League final in three seasons.
"I'm very satisfied, very happy to keep belonging to this family and this project," Griezmann said. "I want to improve every year, and the club, the coaches and my teammates can help me to reach this goal".
- More news from Atletico as they are set to unveil the signing of Croatia full-back Sime Vrsaljko, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport. The Rojiblancos have identified Vrsaljko as the man to provide Juanfran competition for the position.They will reportedly pay Sassuolo an initial fee of €16million, as well as a further €2 million in add-ons.
- Barcelona are looking to sign Chelsea’s right-back Cesar Azpilicueta in an attempt find a suitable replacement for Dani Alves. The Blues are willing to sell the 26-year-old for £13.8 million. According to AS, Azpilicueta is Barca manager’s Luis Enrique’s second choice after Hector Bellerin, who is unlikely to come to Camp Nou as Arsenal are unwilling to let their emerging star go. PSG, Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid are said to be interested in the Chelsea defender.
