Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 is just over a month away. Anticipation and speculation are at an all-time high, so here are some assumptions about the upcoming content.

While most of the information has been confirmed via leaks or files found in-game, a few are based on guesswork and wishful thinking. While they may not come to fruition in-game as envisioned, they will likely be showcased in some way.

First-person mode and four other exciting things to expect in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2

1) First-person mode

Since the Fortnite update v23.30, dataminers have been able to use the upcoming first-person mode in the game. While this version of the feature does have a few bugs, those will be quashed once it's officially launched.

Regarding the launch date, with the first-person mode already in the files and usable to an extent, there's no doubt that it will be officially released next season. If all goes according to plan, players will be able to use this feature post March 10, 2023.

However, it's left to be seen if this new first-person mode will have its own playlist like Zero-Build or function independently. In all probability, the latter will hold true, given that this is merely a new camera angle.

2) New mechanics

Aside from the first-person mode, Epic Games is also working on new mechanics. According to leaker HYPEX, the developers are working on a new 'Wanted System' in which players will be able to pay 100 Gold to 'Reduce Heat.'

Currently, there's limited information on the new mechanic, but some are speculating that it may be linked to the upcoming theme of Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2.

3) Heist/Crime theme

Speculation is high that Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 will be heist/crime-themed, due to the widespread appearance of 'Most Wanted' posters on the island. The rumored development of a 'Wanted System' further supports this speculation.

Additionally, NPCs such as Renegade Shadow and Rebel appearing on the island set the stage for the formation of a criminal empire/underworld. However, with NPCs rotating out every season, they may be replaced once Chapter 4 Season 2 begins.

4) Creative 2.0/UEFN

Creative 2.0/UEFN has been the talk of the town for over a year. With the game now running on Unreal Engine 5.1, it's only obvious that the Creative mode gets souped up as well. While this update was initially planned to be rolled out in late January 2023, those plans were dropped.

As per Tim Sweeney's public statement, the new timeline for the release of this update will be sometime in March 2023. This makes more sense as it coincides will the release of Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2.

That said, without a fixed timeframe to go on, Creative 2.0/UEFN may not get added in at the very start of the new season, and players may have to wait until the end of the month to see it come into full effect.

5) New antagonist and returning characters

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 is likely to introduce a brand new antagonist into the fray. With The Ageless Champion tasking Rift Warden Stellan with constructing a Rift Gate, new horrors will undoubtedly come through this tear in spacetime.

Considering Stellan is already talking about an entity called the Shapeless Man, there's a strong possibility that a new villain/enemy will arrive on the island next season. Given how vast the metaverse is, there's no telling who or what it could be.

In addition to the new villains, there's a chance that The Scientist will make a return during Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2. With AMIE hellbent on rescuing him, he may once again become an NPC on the island.

As for the other members of The Seven, barring The Paradigm, it's unclear where everyone else is. Perhaps their fate will be revealed sometime later in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2.
