Fortnite's first-person mode was updated with the v23.30 patch, released on Tuesday, January 31. This feature was first leaked in the summer of 2022, shortly after the release of Chapter 3 Season 3.

This is when the game developer began developing a new perspective, and it appears to be very close to its official release.

While Epic Games hasn't released this new feature yet, there is a simple trick you can do to enable it. However, it's important to note that the feature is bugged at the moment, which is why you should use it only to get a glimpse before its eventual introduction.

With the release of the latest update, Epic Games has further developed the upcoming feature. Additionally, the video game developer has accidentally allowed players to enable it.

However, the Fortnite feature is still in its early stages, which is why its riddled with numerous bugs. Additionally, it's important to note that several weapons do not have a proper 3D model from the first-person mode.

If you still want to try the first-person mode, you can do so by opening Fortnite: Save the World. The PvE mode has always incorporated a first-person camera, but it can now be used in battle royale modes.

Here are the steps to enable the feature:

  • Switch to Save the World mode
  • Open the Main Menu
  • Click on the gear icon to open in-game settings
  • Switch to the Game settings tab (second tab)
  • Find "First-person Camera) under Extra Game Options
  • Turn it on

Once you enable the experimental Fortnite feature, you can leave the PvE mode and select any other mode you like. We advise you to get into a Team Rumble match to test the new perspective.

Fortnite's first-person mode works on both shooting and building. While building looks different with the feature turned on, some players have already gotten used to it and have no problems playing against enemies.

When will first-person mode be released in the game?

Epic Games has not publicly confirmed the first-person mode for Fortnite. However, this information came from leakers, who found the upcoming feature in the game data.

Unfortunately, leakers have no idea when the first-person mode will be officially released. The next update will likely come out on Tuesday, February 14, and will be the last major update of Chapter 4 Season 1. While there is a chance that Epic will release the new feature with it, it might be postponed for Season 2.

As many Battle Royale players know, Chapter 4 Season 1 will end on March 10, 2023. Considering that Epic Games has postponed Creative 2.0 for March, there is a good chance that both modes will come out with the next season.
