The Falcon Scout is an amazing scouting/utility item in Fortnite. Added to the loot pool in Chapter 4 Season 1, it offers players a bird's-eye view of the battlefield in real-time.

While scouting and marking enemies is its primary function, it can also be used in other ways for combat. With a bit of imagination and some quick-thinking, players can make the most of the Falcon Scout in almost any situation.

Stealing items/weapons and four other ways to utilize the Falcon Scout in Fortnite

1) Distract enemies and block their field of view

The Falcon Scout can be used to cause distractions in Fortnite. Players can take control of the flying automaton and head straight into a group of enemies to fly around them. Those with audio visualization enabled will be distracted by an alert from the nearby Falcon Scout.

Enemies will immediately open fire and try to shoot it out of the sky, which will result in them wasting bullets and alerting others to their position. Additionally, the Falcon Scout can also be used to fly into an enemy and block their direct field of view. This may result in them missing a critical shot.

2) Steal items/weapons

If distractions are not very useful, the Falcon Scout can always be used to steal weapons and items from enemies in Fortnite Chapter 4. But to do so, players have to be cunning and quick. The moment an enemy opens a chest, the Falcon Scout can be used to swoop in and steal the loot.

While most loot items are rather common, some of them can be game-changers. Players can attempt to steal high-value items such as Rocket Launchers, Guardian Shields, and Legendary-tier weapons.

3) Save knocked teammates and retrieve Reboot Cards

During squad matches in Fortnite, players tend to get knocked down and subsequently eliminated. If the enemy player has not finished the elimination, there's still hope as one can use the Falcon Scout to swoop in and pick up their fallen comrade. This will save the time and effort of having to look for a Reboot Van.

If the enemy is thorough and eliminates the fallen player, the Reboot Card can be picked up by the automaton and brought back to be collected. The process of rebooting can be rather tedious, but it's better than playing with one teammate short.

4) Hide the Falcon Scout inside an enemy structure and spam-mark the area

A neat thing about the Falcon Scout in Fortnite is that it can move about like a hummingbird. It can stay stationary in one spot off the ground. As a result, it can get into places or areas that are otherwise inaccessible without the player breaking down a wall or two.

Once nestled inside the structure being used as a stronghold by opponents, the Falcon Scout can spam-mark the location to reveal enemies. Teammates that have Deku's Smash can use this information to obliterate players clustered in the safety of a walled structure.

5) Open chests in hard-to-reach places

At times, reaching certain chests becomes a difficult task. If the direct pathway to the chest is blocked or the area is infested with enemies, the Falcon Scout can be used to open the chest with ease.

A good example of this is the cave within Shattered Slabs that houses an Oathbound chest. Rather than entering the cave, players can send the Scout Falcon to search the chest and collect the items. This saves the player a lot of effort and footwork.
