It may be a brand new chapter of Fortnite, but Epic Games hasn't changed one bit. They're still the same exceptional developer and community leader that they've always been, which means they still love giving away free items.

Even though Chapter 4 Season 1 has just begun (it is a few hours old at the time of writing), Epic has already begun handing out free cosmetic rewards. They do this frequently, but they're starting the good cheer early on in Chapter 4 Season 1.

The giveaway means that gamers can earn the Zero Fragment back bling for free. Here's how to do just that.

Fortnite Zero Point back bling - A guide on how to get the cosmetic without spending V-Bucks

The free back bling and its method of acquisition were brought to the community by popular YouTuber Tabor Hill. The insider often provides insight on how to get free things.

Leakers had initially suspected that this back bling would be tied to attending the live event from Saturday, which would mean it would be impossible to get for free later on. However, that turned out to be faulty information as it is not tied to the live event's attendance, but is simply a Twitch drop.

To acquire the free item in Fortnite, follow these steps:

  1. First, you will need to ensure your account is linked. Twitch profile should be linked to Epic Games so that any time a Twitch drop is available, it can be redeemed.
  2. Once that's done, you must watch an eligible streamer as they will have drops enabled. Some try to poach viewers by putting "drops" in their stream title, but legitimate broadcasts will have information on the drops in the top-right corner of the stream.
  3. Once you find a streamer who has drops enabled legitimately, you have to spend 45 minutes watching the Fortnite Chapter 4 stream. Tabor Hill, SypherPK, and many others qualify for this.
  4. Once you've watched for 15 minutes, you will unlock the lobby music track that comes with the back bling. It is important to note that you have to redeem this reward first before the second set of minutes start counting.
  5. After you've redeemed the reward in Twitch, it will eventually show up in Fortnite and you will begin counting for the second set of watch duration. Once 30 minutes have passed, the free Zero Fragment back bling will be available to redeem as well.
  6. Once again, you have to redeem it in Twitch first. If you forget to do this and the giveaway ends, you may not end up with it at all.

Tabor Hill stressed that the giveaway is only active for a little while, so even though 45 minutes isn't that long, it's best to get started on this right away. You don't want to pass up the opportunity for a free cosmetic that is quite good.

Once the giveaway ends, it's not clear if these cosmetic items will ever return. They may end up in the Fortnite Item Shop some day, but even if they do, they won't be free like they are right now.
