Players will need 500 Battle Stars to unlock the first 100 tiers of the Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 Battle Pass. Unlike in the previous chapter where there were 10 pages representing 100 tiers, there is a total of 14 pages this time around.

Given the increase in the number of pages, the number of items on each segment of the page has been reduced. This is due to Epic Games reworking the UI to make it more streamlined. Nevertheless, some things have remained the same in terms of design and layout.

Understanding how the cost of cosmetics is divided will provide players with some clarity on the matter at hand. However, since not all cosmetics cost the same, some sections of the Battle Pass cost more than others.

Nevertheless, the cost per cosmetic item is the same throughout the first 100 levels. Based on this, players can get a general understanding of which items to prioritize and unlock once they reach the prerequisite level requirement. Here's a breakdown of the cost of each type of cosmetic:

  • Banner and Spray - Two Battle Stars each
  • Emoticon, Spray, Loading Screen - Three Battle Stars each
  • Contrail and Wrap - Four Battle Stars each
  • Back Bling and Currency (V-Bucks) - Five Battle Stars each
  • Glider - Six Battle Stars each
  • Emote and Pickaxe/Harvesting Tool - Seven Battle Stars each
  • Outfit and Style - Nine Battle Stars each

The pricing format is consistent from page one to 14, and players will have to spend a total of 500 Battle Stars to unlock all the cosmetics. That said, with each page of the Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 Battle Pass having two segments of cosmetics to unlock, the total number of Battle Stars needed per page will vary drastically.

Bonus rewards

Unlike the first 100 tiers of the Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 Battle Pass, which are divided between 14 pages, the bonus rewards are only spread across six. Nevertheless, the cost per cosmetic item is the same (barring Skin Styles) and will cost 20 Battle Stars each.

Furthermore, once the servers are live, only four out of the six pages will be available. The remaining two pages will be unlocked in the next 11 days. Despite not knowing what sort of cosmetics to expect, the total cost will not go beyond the 500 Battle Stars limit.

Logically speaking, given that each level rewards players with five Battle Stars, that's 200 multiplied into five. With level 200 being the seasonal level cap for Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1, no more than 1,000 Battle Stars can be earned in-game.

Geralt of Rivia

In addition to the normal and bonus Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 Battle Pass rewards, players will also be able to unlock cosmetics that are associated with the Geralt of Rivia skin as part of The Witcher collab. Unlike other cosmetics in the Battle Pass, these do not require any Battle Stars to unlock.

Players will likely have to undertake simple challenges to obtain the cosmetics in-game. That said, it's unclear when these challenges will go live. With the downtime still active, a lot of information is yet to be revealed.
