Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 will be Cyberpunk-themed, more precisely - "Futuristic-Japanese '' themed (Neo-Tokyo). While this may seem odd, given that the current theme is medieval, there were telltale signs of development. An excellent example of this is the tractors in Frenzy Fields that work with the help of solar panels.

Another indication of a more modern theme in development was the introduction of the Falcon Scout and even the 'Most Wanted' side story. By the looks of it, Epic Games decided to take things out of the medieval era and straight into a futuristic setting.

While having a futuristic theme is nothing new for the game, it's very different from what Fortnite Chapter 1 Season 9 was. Although the theme was 'futuristic,' it wasn't unique. But this time around, things will be very different.

Based on the leaks, the theme for Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 will revolve around Japanese culture and take place in the future. While this doesn't specify what type of futuristic setting it will follow, Neo-Tokyo is a good example. Although Epic Games will put its spin on the design and available assets, the overall theme will likely retain a Japanese vibe.

On that note, players can expect POIs like Neo Tilted to pop up on the island. That said, while not every POI or landmark will be purely Japanese-themed, it will take up most of what can be considered the dominant or prevalent seasonal vibe.

This will also translate and carry over to the Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 Battle Pass. The latest leaks show that the new skins have a futuristic vibe. Two of them could potentially be classified as Japanese-inspired as well.

With everything said and done, the island will not be futuristic or Japanese-themed by a long shot. Epic Games will undoubtedly leave large portions of the map untouched by futuristic mumbo-jumbo.

Will any collaboration during Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 gel well with the futuristic vibes?

While there are no leaks or rumors about anything in the works, the community would like to see a collaboration with Back to the Future. Considering the season's theme would be futuristic, it would fit right in. Donald Mustard, CCO of Epic Games, even teased something related to the franchise in early 2022.

Furthermore, since Epic Games often lines up collaborations with a season that shares a common theme, it would make sense to have Marty McFly and Dr. Emmett Brown in-game. Several concept artists have even posted ideas about cosmetic items that suit the collaboration.

Moving on from Back to the Future at '88 miles-per-hour, another collaboration that players would love to see is Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. Given the critical reception that the anime has received from audiences worldwide, it's a winner.

Adding to the fact that all Outfits from this collaboration will be animated, it's a huge win-win situation for the community. David Martinez, Lucy, Dorio, Maine, and Rebecca, will make for excellent characters to have present in the metaverse.

Bearing in mind that Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty (DLC) will be released sometime this year, it will also add more hype to the collaboration. While there's no release date yet, rumors suggest it will be released sooner than expected.

With all that said, as stated, there's no information about any collaboration in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2, barring Eren Yeager from Attack on Titan. Players must keep their itchy trigger fingers crossed and hope for the best.
