Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 teaser breakdown

Epic Games has officially revealed the first teaser for Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3. It was showcased during the Fortnite x Monster Jam event live and later uploaded on numerous social media channels. While the teaser does not reveal much in terms of storyline or lore, it does provide some insight into collaborations and characters.

The official caption of the Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 teaser reads:

"Seatbelts: On."

As mentioned by Mark Rein (Epic Games Co-Founder), the word for Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 is "Nitro." This lines up with the caption that mentions seatbelts. By the looks of things, the season will have a lot to do with vehicles and automobiles in general. That being said, here is breakdown of the teaser and a few Easter Eggs that were hidden in plain sight.

In the opening seconds of the trailer, a massive sandstorm can be seen approaching the island. Lil Whip and The Brat (who were likely enjoying a day at the beach), stand in awe as the cloud of dust advances.

As the camera pans away, Hope, Brite Bomber, and a new survey skin (that will likely be featured in Chapter 5 Season 3), can be seen poised on their Trail Thrashers. After looking at the advancing sandstorm, they turn their bikes and head inland in a hurry (probably to warn the others). Since Hope is part of a faction known as The Underground, she is likely making a hasty dash to inform Jonesy.

The camera next pans to a massive vehicle (perhaps a cargo ship of sorts) that is within the sandstorm. Giant metallic doors open and a figure that resembles Gunnar (belonging to the Imagined Order faction) leads another character (who looks like Chaos Agent) to the exit. It is unclear why this is happening, but it may connect to the storyline later on.

On a side note, given that Gunnar was eliminated during the war that broke out in Chapter 3 Season 2, this could be a variant (snapshot) of him. If so, it's very likely that the Imagined Order or a different version of this faction will be introduced in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3.

In the final moments of the Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 trailer, numerous vehicles can be seen pouring out of the cargo ship and likely onto the island. These include bikes, the new vehicles that were teased by content creators, and a modified SUV. By the looks of things, the island is going to be raided or invaded.

Lastly, it can be confirmed that aside from Fortnite x Fallout, there will be a Marvel collaboration as well in Chapter 5 Season 3. This comes as no surprise as Doctor Victor Von Doom is allegedly going to be the main antagonist for Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4.
