With Fortnitemares 2022 coming to an end, it's once again time for a Fortnite downtime and update.

Update v22.30 is scheduled to arrive today, November 1, 2022, at 4:00 am Eastern Time. Epic Games hasn't revealed details about the upcoming content, but according to leakers, there are a few secrets waiting to be unraveled.

As with every downtime, the servers will be shut down 30 minutes prior to the update. Late-night players should wrap up their session by 3:30 am Eastern Time to avoid losing out on progression in-game. There's nothing worse than being kicked out of a game on the cusp of winning a match.

How long will the Fortnite downtime last today (November 1)?

With Fortnitemares 2022 coming to an end, there'll be a lot of changes to execute in-game. From decor to spooky NPCs and the dark regions that exist for certain POIs, they'll all be removed. This alone will take some time for Epic Games to complete. Not to mention the various items/weapons that will be vaulted.

Since this is a major content update that is being carried out after one festive phase in-game, things will take some time. Fortnite's downtime today should last anywhere between three to five hours, depending on the scale of things. Nevertheless, the game's servers will be up and running by the time most players wake up.

New content and changes for Fortnite update v22.30

If the rumors and speculations hold true, the new content for update v22.30 is going to be a doozy.

According to major leakers, Epic Games will be adding three "beloved" characters to the game after Fortnite downtime ends.

While there's no clue as to who these could be, leakers are of the opinion that they are related to Star Wars. The characters in question may be Han Solo, Princess Leia, and Luke Skywalker. Three back blings and pickaxes, as well as one emote and glider, will also be added to the game.

Taking into consideration that there have been numerous reports of another Star Wars collaboration, this fits well into the narrative. In the game's files, there exists coding for an upcoming Star Wars Junk Rift item. While it cannot be said conclusively that this item will be added in-game once Fortnite downtime ends, it does add to the speculation and rumors.

Speaking of characters and cosmetics, The Herald will soon become unlockable via the Battle Pass. Players will be able to undertake challenges to unlock all her cosmetics in-game.

Other cosmetics will also be coming to the item shop on November 5, 2022, via the Fortnite x Polo collaboration. The trailer and loading screens for the same have all but confirmed the return of the X-4 Stormwing (planes) and the Ferrari 296 GTB. It's very likely that both of them will be added to the island once the Fortnite downtime ends today.

While there is more content bound to arrive with the update v22.30, there's not much information available on the same. More will be revealed in the coming hours and days after the Fortnite downtime ends.
