Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 is here and loopers couldn't be happier. They now have a brand new map to explore, a new Battle Pass to claim, and a fresh set of challenges to complete. In addition to the daily, weekly, and timeline challenges, players can also partake in other additions, like the Explorer Quest.

The developers have furnished a completely new set of challenges called Fortnite Explorer Quests. As the name suggests, it entails a series of challenges that prompt players to explore the map, visit new POIs, and interact with new in-game features.

There are a total of nine different challenges in Fortnite Explorer Quests. Unlike others, these are fairly easy and players will be granted 20,000 XP for each one that they complete.

Players who want to grind and level up quickly can employ the Explorer Quests for their use and rake in substantial XP. The challenges included within the quest are as follows:

  • Land on the new island
  • Visit The Citadel, Anvil Square, and Shattered Slabs
  • Search Oathbound Chests
  • Collect a Shockwave Hammer and an Ex-Caliber Rifle in a single match
  • Activate Augments
  • Land at hot spots
  • Eliminate opponents
  • Hurdle over objects
  • Reach 10 players remaining in a match

Different challenges require different instances of completion. Many of the tasks are inter-related and can be coupled with others that are similar. For readers' convenience, the guides to such challenges have been collated together.

Landing and collecting weapons.

1) Land on the new island

This is by far the easiest challenge on the list. All you need to do is enter a match and drop in on the new Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 map.

2) Visit The Citadel, Anvil Square, and Shattered Slabs

Located in the midwestern part of the map, these new POIs are located fairly close to each other. You can land on any one of them and then track your way to the nearest located POI. Since it is not mentioned anywhere, you can visit each POI across different matches and still complete the challenge.

3) Search Oathbound Chests

Oathbound Chests are a new addition to the game. Unlike regular variants, these are concentrated within certain POIs. You can find these in the top-left quadrant of the map. To complete this challenge, you need to search for a total of five Oathbound Chests.

4) Land at hot spots

Hot spots are an interesting addition to the game. Written in gold on the mini map, these landmarks have drones hovering around them. You can shoot them down and get your hands on some top-tier weapons. You are required to land at three such hot spots on the map.

5) Collect a Shockwave Hammer and an Ex-Caliber Rifle in a single match

Fortnite has a new cache of weapons. Shockwave Hammer and Ex-Caliber Rifle will spawn in the newly introduced Oathbound chests. You need to collect one of each within a single match.

Other challenges

6) Activate Augments

Augments are part of the newly introduced in-game mechanics. Fortnite has never witnessed anything like this before.

You need to activate the "perks" 20 times across different matches. However, they only become available after you have spent some time within a match. Once Augments become available, you can activate the ones you desire.

7) Eliminate opponents

This is yet another easy challenge. All that you need to do is eliminate 25 different opponents across different matches. You can also complete this challenge in game modes like Team Rumble.

8) Hurdle over objects

Fortnite now offers players an option to hurdle over obstacles. While sprinting, you can jump over small objects like boulders, barrels, fences, and other similar objects. All you need to do is sprint towards the obstacle. You will need to hurdle over 15 objects to complete the challenge.

9) Reach 10 players remaining in a match

Battle royale is all about survival and this challenge banks on it. You are required to survive until only 10 players remain in a match. You need to do it only once, and the best way to complete it is to camp and only counter-attack.
