Shields play a vital role in Fortnite as well as other battle royale games. They function as a second skin for players, allowing them to resist incoming damage. While they can be broken or "cracked", players can consume certain items to replenish them.

As part of the challenge for week 6, Epic Games wants players to deal damage to their opponents while at max health and shields. While this task is tricky given how often damage is taken in-game, with some planning, it should be easy. That said, those who manage to complete it will be awarded 20,000 XP.

How to deal damage to opponents while at max health and shields in Fortnite - A step-by-step guide

1) Land and look for supplies as well as long-range weapons

The first order of business is to land in a safe region and look for supplies. The most important type of supplies that will be needed is healing. Since the challenge requires players to stay at max health and shields while inflicting damage, it is crucial to this challenge's success.

The second most important item will be a long-range weapon. This can either be a Sniper or DMR, whichever the player prefers. Additionally, collect as much ammo as possible. Once this has been done, they should max out their shields before leaving the POI in search of enemies.

2) Be tactical and sneaky while looking for opponents

Since the goal is to remain at max health and shields while inflicting damage, not sustaining any is crucial. This can only be done by being tactical and playing stealthily. Rather than approaching opponents with a finger on the trigger, players need to approach without being seen.

The key is to find high ground and look for a good vantage point from which to shoot from. This limits the possibility of players being shot at by opponents and having to waste healing items to get back to max health and shields.

3) Line up the perfect shot and complete the challenge in one shot

Once an opponent has been located, get into the firing position and line up the perfect shot. Fortnite players who are proficient with sniper rifles can complete the challenge in one swift blow by landing a clean headshot. For those who are not comfortable with snipers, a DMR will work just as well.

The only thing to ensure is that health and shields are both maxed out while firing. Even if one point from the main shield bar is missing, dealing any damage will not count towards the challenge's progression.

On that note, it should be addressed that, due to Tactical Shield ability, 50 damage points can be mitigated before the main shield bar sustains damage. Players can use this as a buffer to soak up damage that would otherwise affect the main shield.
