Players are tasked to emote for five seconds while or after claiming a Capture Point as part of the Week 12 Challenges in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1. Given that numerous Capture Points are on the island, finding one will not be a problem.

However, since they provide good loot after being claimed, players may have to slug it out with their opponents to get one to themselves. Nevertheless, with some ingenuity, the task can easily be completed in a single match.

Step-by-step guide on how to emote for five seconds while or after claiming a Capture Point

1) Land at Loney Labs and secure the area

Despite there being several Capture Points on the island, the one located at Lonely Labs is probably the easiest to secure. Given how the POI is the least "sweaty" landing spot in Chapter 4 Season 1, securing the area will be easy.

If opponents land in and around the area, eliminate them or force them to rotate before attempting to secure the Capture Point. This will make the overall task easier.

2) Start claiming the Capture Point and choose an emote to perform

Once the area has been secured, the next step is to start claiming the Capture Point. To do this, players must stay within the radius of the Capture Point for a duration of 45 seconds. During this timeframe, players can select an emote to perform for a few seconds to complete the challenge.

Those who do not want to take unnecessary risks are free to emote for five seconds after claiming the Capture Point. This can be done from within the safety of a walled structure. After emoting for five seconds, 16,000 experience points will be rewarded.

Emoting in-game is one of the easiest things for a player to do. Depending on the device on which the game is being played, the default button to bring up the emote menu will vary. For PC players, the default button is the "B" key.

Once pressed, it brings up what can be best described as an emote wheel. From there, players can select the emote they want to perform and click on it. They can browse their selection of emotes by scrolling through the mouse-wheel button to find one they like. To recap, here are the steps:

  • Bring up the emote wheel in-game
  • Choose the emote of your liking and select it
  • Let it run for five seconds to complete the challenge

That said, since the challenge does not specify any emote in particular, players are free to emote whatever they would like to complete the challenge. This can be a freebie emote, anything obtained from the Battle Pass, or bought from the Item Shop.
