Fortnite: How to use a D-Launcher while holding a chicken

In Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4, D-Launchers provide unparalleled mobility to players. They can be found in strategic locations all across the map. Although they are unidirectional, they provide an in-game advantage when used correctly.

For the Avian Ambush Challenge Week, players are required to use one D-Launcher while holding a chicken. As weird as it must sound, completing the task will reward 20,000 XP. With Chapter 4 starting soon, every bit of experience earned will help players reach 200 at their seasonal level.

A step-by-step guide on how to use a D-Launcher while holding a chicken in Fortnite

1) Land at a POI that's located close to a D-Launcher

Although there are multiple D-Launcher locations found all over the island, not all of them are in close proximity to chickens. Only certain locations are ideal for undertaking this challenge. Here's a list of these locations:

• Lustrous Lagoon
• Fort Jonesy
• Cloudy Condos
• Flutter Barn
• Tainted Towers

Lustrous Lagoon is arguably the best location for this challenge. The D-Launchers at the POI are easy to find and extremely accessible.

2) Gear up and look for a chicken

An important aspect of the challenge is collecting enough gear during the early game to avoid running into problems during the mid-game. However, before players can go running about looking for chickens, it's a good idea to gear up.

Although Lustrous Lagoon is not a hot-drop location, a handful of opponents may land there, depending on how the match plays out. Players caught without basic gear will not be able to hold their ground and may get eliminated.

3) Catch the chicken and go towards the D-Launcher

After securing enough gear, the next step is to find a chicken in the wild and catch it. For newcomers wondering how to do this, all they have to do is approach the chicken and use the interact button to catch it. If the chicken catches wind of the attempt, it will make a run for it.

If this happens, players should stop moving and let the chicken settle down. Once it calms down, another attempt can be made. Alternatively, players who are good at building can build walls to prevent it from escaping. Once caught, the next step is to find a D-Launcher.

4) Step onto the D-Launcher while holding the chicken to complete the task

The last step of this challenge is to walk onto the D-Launcher while holding the chicken. As soon as players make contact with this fixed mobility device, they'll be flung a considerable distance across the map. Once this action is triggered, the challenge will be completed.

Keep in mind that since D-Launchers are unidirectional, players will have to decide which one is worth using. Rather than merely using one to complete the challenge, they can use one that allows them to reach the next safe zone sooner.
