Fortnite and Netflix's Stranger Things have worked together on many different occasions. With Stranger Things Day yesterday, November 6, many gamers expected the creators to announce another crossover with Epic Games' hit battle royale. They had been teasing something recently with the Creative Hub and other nods to aspects of the fourth season of the hit show.

However, Stranger Things Day came and went without much at all. The title for the first episode of the final season was revealed to be "The Crawl." They showed the first page of the script with the title and the creators' names.

They also showcased a new game, a virtual reality Stranger Things, where players can play as Vecna on Netflix, as part of their attempt to enter the world of gaming.

Fans disappointed after a new Fortnite x Stranger Things collaboration doesn't turn up

The above reveals were was pretty much everything for the unofficial holiday, and Fortnite players were left disappointed. Many were hoping for the announcement of another crossover or the return of various skins.

Even the Item Shop ignored the holiday. It's now been three years since the initial collaboration was seen in the store. Gamers waited in anticipation for the offered items to change, hoping to see those cosmetics return at long last. Alas, they were left frustrated as it seems Epic Games and Stranger Things had no plans to work together on the show's day.

In fact, the only collaborations present in the Item Shop were every single Star Wars crossover, Polo, and Rick and Morty.

The two brands do have a solid working relationship, but hopeful fans of both were left extremely disappointed. However, Epic Games does often engage in timely collaborations.

Since the show is not new right now, with Season 5 well off in the distance, it's not an opportune time for a crossover. The lack of announcements does not mean that the game and the show are done working together. In fact, that's pretty unlikely.

Reactions to the lack of a crossover

Many gamers hoped for something, but were given nothing yesterday.

Unfortunately, Epic Games isn't likely to do anything about the disappointment.

Stranger Things x Fortnite: What have they collaborated on in the past?

This would have been the fourth time Fortnite crossed over with the Duffer brothers' smash hit. The first time came several years ago in classic form: cosmetics and other offerings in the Item Shop.

Chief Hopper and the Demogorgon received skins and related cosmetics for purchase. Many players didn't realize it, but it would be one of the very few opportunities to get those skins.

The brands worked together again in Chapter 2 Season 7 when Epic Games introduced the Sideways.

The Sideways was supposed to be like the show's Upside Down. It was an alternate version of the same world, with just monsters and other scary additions.

It introduced special weapons like the Sideways Rifle, Sideways Minigun, and Sideways Scythe. These returned for a brief time later during a Fortnite Wild Week.

Finally, they recently crossed over in an unofficial capacity with the Creative Hub looking exactly like Hawkins, with the Creel house from Season 4 prominently displayed.

Grandfather clocks played a central role in the most recent season and they were featured heavily in Fortnite too.
